Firstly, you need to relax. I would have written you privatley but your profile is private. Perhaps youd get more replies and support if u make it public. I have read quite a few of your posts. You are so early out- this recovery TAKES TIME!!!!!!!! No Dr is going to reverse your bypass at thsi time so you need to hang in there and do what you must now. If bp is low, try to add some salt to your food and see your dr about it!! There is but so much help u can get through online chat. Good luck to you.

Ok, you need a hug so here it is. {{{{{{HUG}}}}}} Now, IT GETS BETTER FROM HERE. Be patient with yourself. Are you getting enough fluids? That could trigger low blood pressure. Have you talked with your doctor? If not, do so. They should have told you this, but our surgery is not reversible. Try to get more rest, MORE FLUIDS and don't worry, it gets better from here. Post and let us know how you're doing.

Hi, I know saying RELAX is not a fix..but you need to follow your Dr's advice. Did they tell you how low was ok? Have you called your Dr.? Mine also went low, I am now 2 1/2 months out. Doing fine. We just had surg. our bodies have to regroup..heal. When in doubt call your DR. they are the pros. they know what is normal for YOU. Wish you well.

Hi. Deeeeeep breaths, OK? Your body has just experienced the trauma of major surgery. Any surgery will affect the body and yours is being manifested through low bp and a numb thigh. As others have said, call your doctor and talk this through with him. The advice regarding raising your bp is good advice, too. You will likely experience many, many changes following this surgery with regard to bp, blood sugar levels, increase in gas, loud stomach sounds, less soreness or pain in your joints, change in bowel habits, and so on. Things will get better and I think you will worry less as time goes on. It is a different "ride" for everyone. For me, it has been worth every part. Best, dana

I know you are scared. I am almost 5 weeks out and this morning I am sick to my stomach and I know I am not getting enough water. It is hard to drink all the water you need, but I am using an egg timer and setting it for every 15 minutes to let me know to drink. My BP dropped and I got dizzy and had to go back to the hospital for 4 days for IV's. You need to try to find a way to get all your water into your system. Call your Doctor. You are probably dehydrated and he will help you. He told me to call anytime---that it is very important to drink!!! Many Blessings!! diana

Low blood pressure can sometimes be caused by dehydration. You may want to try drinking more fluids. Dizziness can also be caused by this too. As far as the tingling? I had that too! It is probably due to the needle being inserted near a nerve in your arm and resting against it for a while. I had tingling and numbness in one finger for about a MONTH after surgery. Eventually, it just went away. It got to the point where I ignored it, and I didn't even REALIZE that it was GONE until one day, I just noticed it! The best advice I could give you is to be PATIENT, and DRINK PLENTY OF WATER. This should get better. If the dizziness doesn't resolve itself with water, see a physician. The numbness in your hand should resolve in time. If not, again, see a physician. I just wanted to let you know that you are not alone in this. I have suffered these symptoms myself and STILL do from time to time. I need to be careful MYSELF to make sure that I get enough to drink on a daily basis because I can only drink small amounts at a time. I need to carry water WITH me at all times and SIP at it ALL DAY in order to get enough to keep from getting dizzy. This may be something that YOU want to consider if you do not already do so. I hope this helps, Hugh.

Congratulations on taking the biggest step to the begin of your new life style. You will be amazed before this is over. The surgery you had is only given to those who struggle and have struggled to get healthy. Be proud of yourself, the hardest part is over. It takes about 3 months for the dizziness to leave and I still get light headed almost a yr out and 90lbs gone. Please dont be discouraged by the little things. You are so blessed to have come this far. In the next 100lb lose you will be amazed at the way our weight has paralyzed out life and things we never did we can now do. I never knew how limited I was b/c 90lbs over weight just felt like I was fat and not unhealthy. Today I feel wonderful. You will begin to grow so much on the inside and appreciate what life really is. It has given me a totally different perspective. If you need any help or want to chat please feel free to contact me by email or on the phone. This transition isn't problem free mentally, emotionally of physically however, it is what you make of it and you can get through any complication or barriers you come across. God didnt bring you this far without a reason. Have a blessed week.

Quick way to stop the dizziness is take a Soup Bouillon Cube and dissolve it in about a cup of hot water. Just slurp it up on a spoon, as you would regular soup. The dizziness will subside. I'm 7 years post-op, so I know what i'm saying.
