Question:
Can a plastic surgeon do a hernia repair with a panni

I have tricare and tricare sent me to only a plastic surgeon for my hernia repair and panni. When i called to make the appt the lady on the phone said she is pretty sure the plastic surgeon can also do my hernia repair as well I thought a general surgeon can only do those but who am i.. My friend had her hernia repair and tummy tuck at the same time however, her surgeon did the hernia repair and her plastic surgeon did the tummy tuck.

Yes Dr.s can do both at the same time.

I had a hernia repair at the same time as the panni removal and my surgeon did both.

My plastic surgeon just did both for me. I am 8 days post-op from that surgery. Good luck to you!

Your plastic surgeon can do both if he is willing. Plastic surgeons are trained first as general surgeons, then undertake additional training in the specialty of plastic or reconstructive surgery. Best wishes!
