Question:
Does anyone know if this new necatr drink is okay for post ops

I read somewhere on the posts some time ago that this new nectar protein drink isn't good for bariatric patients because our bodies don't absorb it fast enough before it leaves the body. Does anyone know about this? Has anyone's doctor recommended it?    — Cindi S. (posted on June 24, 2003)

Honestly I haven't heard that yet, I wish I could be more help but I know alot of people are using it and I was planning to order it as well, I have my consult on Thurs. I guess I will ask my surgeon what he thinks!

The whey protein in the Nectar drink is predigested whey so we should be able to absorb it just fine...I don't think that wlssuccess.com and vitalady.com would be selling it if they felt it wasn't OK for post-op RNY patients to have...JR

WHich nectar drink are you talking about? I have only seen the Libby's peach, apricot and pear ones that have been out forever.
