Question:
Do you think I could get a tummy tuck at the same time as a hystorectomy?

I just found out that I have a fibroid tumor and a hystorectomy may be necessary. I was just about to start my journey to get a tummy tuck and now this. Has anyone ever heard of doing both procedures at the same time?    — purpletb (posted on August 27, 2002)

A friend of mine had uterine cancer and had a tummy tuck, hysterectomy, and her bladder fixed all at the same time.

Hi Theresa, When I had my RNY the surgeon found that my uterus was enlarge full of fibroid tumors. In fact it is the same size as a 7-8 month preg. woman. I talked to my GYN and we are going to tey a Uterine fibroid embolization procedure first. Here is a web site to check it out http://www.fibroidworld.com/UAE.htm. Then she told me I could wait to have the hystrectomy (if I still need one) when I have my TT. So, the short answer is yes you can have it at the same time.

I had a hysterectomy and tummy tuck performed in April of this year. I wouldn't have had it any other way! I am very pleased with the outcome. Also, I had lots of fibroids, and this did not hender the tummy tuck at all.
