Question:
3 weeks / 2 days post op and sick with possibly the flu ~

I'm 3 weeks+ post op and have been sicker than I've ever been in the past 3 days. I've got a pounding heading that won't seem to go away, a fever of about 100.5, dizziness and what seems to be a head cold. I live in cold-weather country (central Oregon) and these types of things are somewhat common but I've never, ever felt this bad. I know I'm dehydrated because my mouth is so dry and I'm trying to drink all that I can. Tylenol seems to help break the fever but my energy is zapped. Has anyone else been sick this shortly after surgery? Did you feel 10x worse than normal when your sick? I'm scared something else might be going and and have already contacted my doctor - he took my blood last night to check for a few things but won't have the results until this afternoon. If any of you have been sick this shortly after surgery, did you take anything else other than just Tylenol? I wonder if illnesses are now going to be much more of a hassle to conquer than before surgery.    — Lisa J. (posted on May 2, 2002)

Relax, I got really sick a month or so out and worried it was from surgery, had stomach flu. It passed and I now get sick much less than I used too.:) Might be my normal blood sugars, my body is better able to fihght infection.
