Question:
Could we hear from some post-ops who have undergone plastic surgery?

I would really appreciate hearing from some of you post-ops who have undergone plastic surgery. What type of procedure did you have? Was there much discomfort? How long was your recovery? What were your restriction during your recovery period? Are you satisfied with the results? Any tips for those of us who are thinking about plastic surgery? I had a Abdominoplasty Feb. 1 2002. I went in to the plastic surgeons clinic at 8:00 am and went home at 2:00 pm. The surgery itself went very well and I am very happy with it. The discomfort is on a level 1-10 a 5 I'd say. The recovery for me was a full 4 to 5 weeks. I am just now getting around good. I can not lift more than 1/2 gallon of milk. I had the hardest time just sitting around for so long, really got depressing. I still get very tired easily and seems like it has been forever to get this far. As far a preparing, be in as good as health as you can. Make sure all your levels are good. I lost 13lbs just with this surgery. I had lost prior (119lbs) I am finished with my weight loss and now after my 6 week check up I will be able to get back to the gym and build up some muscle. My stomach looks great, alto it still swells up and feel real tight by evening, I can cope with the fact that in time I will have a flat tummy, something I have not had in years. The doctor also found a small hernia in my wls incision site, he repaired that. He also did some lipo, as well as tightening the muscles. I feel better every day, but I do have to admit, it was very tough on me, and I didn't think I was such a baby, but I sure did feel like that with this surgery. Extremely satisfied with the results, and it will take 6mo to one year to see the full results, but I am happy with the results so far. any questions email me at [email protected] Bonnie
