Question:
How much do Tummy tucks, bat wings and breast reconstructive surgery cost?

I am having my surgery 1-17-02 and hope to lose a lot of weight and was wondering how much reconstructive surgerys average in case I need any of them?    — Candace F. (posted on December 22, 2001)

I can't help you with the costs for reconstructive breast surgery, but my surgeon's fee for abdominoplasty was $3000 and $3200 for bilateral brachioplasty (armlift). These figures do not include hospital and anesthesia fees which can vary widely depending on geographic location. I had to go through a standard appeals process following an initial insurance denial, but in the end my insurance covered all the costs of these procedures for me. Good luck!

My arms, breast lift/reduction and tummy tuck were completely covered by insurance. And, in reference to the recent thread about "deflated breasts", my PS will insert saline implants while he's in there for the cost of the implants ($1,000). As many of us have noted, after massive weight loss, we seem to be left with nothing but skin there, so the implants are often desirable. I know mine look great now. I also just got approval for my lower body lift (outer thighs and buttocks) and will be finishing my reonstruction journey this Friday. 2 yr 2 mo and 185 lb lost since my DS and 1 yr 1 mo since I began reconstructive surgery. I asked for sexy smaller bikini panties for Xmas this year and am looking forward to buying a great pair of jeans, one size smaller, for the New Year!

My insurance company did not pay for the abdominoplasty or breast lift. I had the surgeries anyway, because my hernia was causing problems, and I did not want another surgery, and I continue to appeal their decision. The abdominoplasty and breast lift cause a total of $9,300 (surgeon was $6,000, hospital & anesthesia was 3,300). If I had the breast lift alone, it would have been a total of $5,100. My breast lift did not include any implants or saline injections. -Kate-

I am paying for the arms to be done myself, just because I was a good surgeon since the arms are so visable....my cost is 3800.00 for arms alone.

the last posting was in 2002 so here is an update :) in new england i paid $6500.00 for a brachioplasty(upper arm lift) but had gotten another quote for $9300.00. I made the right choice and not only because of the price. The results i recieved are worth every penny, to me priceless. i started with my arms because i have no children yet and it would be silly to do my breasts or tummy.so my arms are the first part of my body that are skinny with no excess skin and since i had been obese my whole life i cannot express how good it feels to see them small for the first time.
