Question:
Noticable increase in libido. Normal?

Has anyone else experienced a dramatic increase in libido post surgery? Or is it merely tied to the weight loss? (My wife sees me and says "Oh no, not again today." My surgeon says the increased desire will eventually "wear off."    — Chris S. (posted on October 6, 2001)

Chris, my libido has been going through the roof since I became a post-op. I was told that estrogen is stored in the fat cells, so that it's not unusual as weight is rapidly lost for a whole load of estrogen to be released into the body. Not sure if it's the same for guys, though. For me, it's been almost distracting! Almost! ; > Just thought I'd let you know you weren't alone...and offer a woman's perspective. Blessings to you! Me too, its really a bit much. Unfortunately my wife is still a pre op and not feeling well. I am waiting for my sex crazed teenage wife to join me as a post op.

I cant beleive that other people had this problem. I didnt want to say anything, because it's not exactly a bad thing. I think it may a little much for my husband, but he hasnt said anything yet. I think he is actually almost the same way since I lost so much weight. 04/12/01 -99lbs 10/7/01
