Hi Beth: I am sheryl in NM and I know how you feel. I was 453 lbs at surgery and it was very hard for me to do anything and I did sleep alot the first 3 months. dont worry about anything and you will be able to deal with all of this in time. I am 6 months out and I am finally able to do some normal things around the house and walk about 15 min at a time.I am having a hard time walking because I live in a small town and the only place I can walk is down my street or at the grociery store. I dont think that would be the best place to walk knowing what my problems are even now. I am doing pretty well and have lost 90 lbs. and 7 cloathing sizes sofar. It will take you about 6 months to get your energy back to par. Please feel free to write me at [email protected] and I will write you back as soon as I can each time.I will help if I can to keep you strong and focused. My best wishes to you on your upcoming surgery. I hope all goes well for you and that you have a speedy, problem free recovery. My husband and I BOTH had our open rny's at Pacific Bariatric in 2001 (in San Diego, CA. ) I had mine in June and have lost 110 lbs with about 30 more to go. My husband had his in Oct. 2001 and has lost 215 lbs and is at goal. We both have the greatest respect for all of the doctors at PB and the staff too. We had the best treatment from our surgeon, Dr. Rumsey. He is fantastic!!! We also had great treatment at Scripps/Mercy hosp. The staff there is well trained and they take good care of you. Good luck to you on your journey to the losing side!! BELIEVE IN YOURSELF AND YOU WILL SUCCEED!!!!!
