Darlene, Congratulations and best wishes for a fast and smooth recovery. I am also one of the vertically challanged members here. That makes me pretty much challenged all the way around :o) Hope you are feeling better soon!

Darlene, I will share with you what was shared with me..I also had an open rny but that's all my dr does...one lady told me to put a chair next to my bed & use it to help me get in/out of bed. I only had bad pain when I was trying to get in/out of bed or the couch or chair..God's Blessings to you & I hope you feel better soon, I know that I just walked, walked, walked & more walking up & down the halls to regain my strength...Let us know how you do. Allison

Darlene is at home now (11/24/02) and doing ok. She is in some pain and is trying to rest. I called her today and she wasn't feeling well. She talked for a few minutes, but she felt pretty bad. Please continue to pray for Darlene and that she will be back on a road to recovery soon.

Darlene came through surgery ok. Doctors were not able to do the surgery lap, so she has the big incision. I talked with her husband Wednesday night and Darlene is doing good today. She walked a little in her room today (11/20) and is resting. She had a slight fever today, but that has subsided. Darlene is scheduled to come home on Friday. Please continue to pray for Darlene.

Hi Darlene!! When I read your post, it was like you had posted my thoughts. I think we all (pre-ops) are thinking the same thing now. I go Dec. 2 and have been going through the same thoughts you have lately. Keep a positive outlook, and it will take you through it easily. That is what I keep telling myself at least. :) This website has helped me tremendously. Just knowing there are others going through the same thing you are is a bit comforting. Good luck with your surgery and recovery. Keep positive thoughts and follow the guidelines and you will be a BIG LOSER before long. Best wishes! You will be in my prayers.
