STOP THIS NOW, OH
Oh has added a share button, so ANYONE can click and share your posts/pictures, etc.

I have recently noticed that you have added the share button. I don't think that you should have that because many of the members what to keep their WLS private. I am deactiving my account if this option isn't removed.

I have already removed my avatar and pictures. I'm pretty disgusted with this.

If anyone can display something on their screen, it is NEVER private. The share button did not change anything other than reminding you of this.
I do not like these"SHARE" buttons for another reason. Every time my cursor happens to slide across it, the damn box pops up and obscures what I am really trying to look at. And these things are showing up on all kinds of websites these days.
IF I WANT THE DAMN SHARE BOX INFO I WILL CLICK ON THE BUTTON! Get rid of the stupid "roll over" behavior.

I just don't see how it changes anything other than being obnoxious...
People could copy and paste the URLs if they wanted to share before... anyone tech savvy enough to share on facebook, already is.
This changes nothing other than bringing the site into web 2.0...

No it's not new and yes, there shouldn't be a presumption of "privacy" on any website but there are tons of people who wouldn't have been concerned enough to look for, let alone found, this site by searching on their own (potential employers are just one example that come to mind). What OH has done is the equivalent of inviting a child molestor into your home. Were your kids in potential danger before that? Probably, but by your actions you've created and encouraged the environment for exploitation. Ewwww OH.
i'm making an analogy Brandi. the web being opened to everybody is one thing, a glaring neon arrow that says "hey, even though you might not be interested in wls surgery, take a look at this over here" is entirely another. the example may be strongly worded but my point is if it invites at least one person who, for the sake of argument, spends their days doing nothing but getting ****s n' giggles out of scrolling through other peoples business, someone who, it's important to point out , wouldn't necessarily have stumbled onto OH before that, sucks ass (to me). i'm still speaking for myself when i say that there isn't anything i've said since joining this or any other message board that i'd be ashamed of were it to be revealed but my general opposition is OH's INVITING other people to view what may not be private, but is always personal. if you don't have a problem with someone else pulling your pants down in public, congratulations. i'm not that evolved.
for what it's worth i had a similar conversation a couple of months ago with a poster who'd posted some before and after photos. they were just being candid in trying to share their journey with pre-ops but were not aware that those quite personal pictures were available to anyone who might've guessed their screenname. because of this new share button that includes a whole gaggle of people who had no idea this person existed let alone had wls.
