There was this one girl who was recently posting on WETEO'S (main) she has a vsg was only a few weeks out and was making some awesome puree recipes. Come to think of it what happened to Lisa & WETEO's? Hope everything's all right :) That was a fun thread.
I'm on the puree stage and still have 3 weeks to go.
Cheesecake protein pudding pops:
I mixed Jello sugar-free cheesecake mix and added unflavored unjury protein powder. I also mixed a little cherry jello. I put a tiny bit of that in icepop containers and filled the rest with the protein pudding. Soooo good. You can make a million different versions of this with different puddings.
Protein ice-pops: Just mix your fav protein pudding, put in ice pop containers and freeze. I like to use Syntha 6 of Syntha 6 Lean Dessert protein.
Crab Bake:
Canned crab, laughing cow light swiss cheese wedge, some unflavored protein powder, a little old bay seasoning. Blend, top with shredded cheddar and bake or microwave.
Tuna Salad:
Canned tuna, (I can't eat mayo now after surgery. I have a bad aversion to it now.), laughing cow light swiss cheese wedge, a little Fage 0% unflavored greek yogurt, dill, pickle juice. Mix, mash well, and enjoy.
Salmon cake:
Canned salmon, laughing cow light swiss cheese wedge, shredded cheddar, a little bit of eggbeaters, a little cayenne, salt, pepper, some seasonings (I use tarragon and a summer savory). Mix, make little balls and bake. Then just eat the insides. Yum!
Taco:
Morning Star veggie crumbles (they are easier on the pouch instead of beef), taco seasoning, taco sauce and spice if you want (I use some hot sauce and cayenne). Cook on the stove, then either blend or you can chew well.
I topped this with Fage 0% unflavored greek yogurt mixed with onion powder, garlic, and a sprinkle of taco seasoning. Then I sprinkled a little shredded cheddar. It was delicious and easy to eat what the family was eating. You could use refried beans instead if you want.
Ricotta Bake:
(Shelly at The World According to Eggface has a ricotta bake recipe - she has a lot of pureed food recipes)
I mix ricotta with garlic powder, a sprinkle of basil, and a little eggbeaters. Put it in a little glass bowl. Put a non-chunky or blenderized spaghetti or marinara sauce on top.
Top with shredded mozzarella and parmesan.
Bake or microwave.
Protein Mashed potatoes:
I make it with half real potatoes and half dehyrated potatoe flakes. I mixed it with a little water, I can't believe it's not butter, Fage 0% unflavored greek yogurt, salt, pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder, and unflavored protein powder.
Soon I'm going to try Shelly's cheesy cauliflower bake.
Also, you can blend any number of soups and protein them up with unflavored protein powder. You can do the same for sugar-free puddings, etc. You can use sugar-free syrups (like Torani and DaVinci) to flavor some unflavored greek yogurt (it packs in protein).
Sorry, I know it's a lot. I'm only starting my second week post op and on the pureed diet so that's all I have for now. I love to cook, so I'm sure I'll come up with a ton more recipes.
I hope this helps. :)
