I thought I read somewhere that there is a "unflavored" powder you can add to Crystal Light to help getting your protein in during 1st week post op.  I did buy a case of Isopure but I like to drink Crystal Light alot and finding a powder that would mix with it would be great.  Anybody doing this?

There are many brands of unflavored protein. My favorite is called "Any Whey" and is sold on Amazon and www.netrition.com. It doesn't have a strong protein smell and it has 70 calories/17g of protein.

There are other unflavored options out there. You might try doing a search for unflavored protein.

i tried mixing an unflavored one (don't remember which) with crystal light a few months back and it was awful. made it thick and hard to get down. i still can't drink the cherry pom. which was my favorite before

I use vanilla whey and Crystal light and I like it better actually.  Vanilla and orange are like creamsicles.  And most of the fruity flavors blend well with the vanilla.  The strawberry banana crystal light has a little protein in it and taste's awesome with the vanilla too.

Thanks for the feedback. I did't consider mixing vanilla whey powder with my orange crystal light, but i like the dreamsickle idea. I'll have to try that but I don't think that will be allowed during week 1 while I'm supposed to be on clear liquids.

I was hoping to make my own Isopure liquid drink with Crystal Light as the flavor with a high protein additive that was instantized enough as to not thicken the Crystal Light (kind of the consistency of the Isopure drinks). I'll keep looking but so far I don't seem to be having much luck finding it. I guess that's why Isopure can get $4 a bottle!

I had trouble finding a protein combo that i liked but about 2 months out I ordered some unflavored protein because I could not stand the taste of the flavored ones. My favorite drink that I still use now is in my 16oz. blender cup I mix 1 scoop protein powder (my favorite powder is from NOW FOODS it is a pure whey protein isolate, and I get a 5 lb. jug for 42 dollars) 1 scoop of my upcal D (calcium plus D powder) and 1 individual serving packet of wild strawberry crystal light, I fill it 3/4 the way with cold water then the rest with ice and blend,,, it is light and delicious with lot's of flavor!

I am still pre-op however, I like the Unjury Unflavored Protein with my Crystal Light 20 grams of protein, and  I use Carnation sugar free with Smart Balance fat free milk only 15 grams I have to drink more but it allows me to switch up. Hope you find a combination you like.

Tried to mix unflavored prot. with crystal light.  I cannot even describe how nasty it was.    I'm stickin' with Isopure for awhile.  It's expensive, but I figure I'm saving that much a day in food and I get 40 g protein!  We're worth it, right?
