Food Find: Shenk's Cup Cheese

Okay, this is obscure but if your local Amish mart has a cheeserie, it's a possibility.

Shenk's Cup Cheese.

It's a very liquidy cheese, reminiscent of a strong brie. Mixes great to make sauces and gravies and dips-- and the best news? It's made from skim milk products, so it's only 10 cals for two tablespoons. WOOT! I mixed 2 tblspoons with some dijon mustard dip powder and threw it in the micro chicken bag with a chicken breast and mushrooms...and in 5 minutes, cheesy,mustardy yummy chicken and 'shrooms in sauce!

This is obscure too -- but most of my neighbors at our cabin are Amish and there are lots of Amish stores. I'm definately going to ask about this one. It sounds amazing. Almost as good as the venison jerky he makes for us on their indoor wood stove. *licks lips*

I don't know...I can usually count on you to bring the great food porn but that is just not working for me. The consistency seems grim. No worries..that isn't an Amish for thousands of miles around here.

oh looks perfect.

I"m trying to see if they sell it in stores we are up in Amish Country all the time. I like to buy the NSA apple butter right from the person who makes it.... Her PA Dutch Accent just adds to my fun!
