Protein brownies (no meringue, no things...HAPPY NOW PAM?!?!?) -- recipe, pics, stats
Brownies that do not look like the excretion of any animal.
But they are damned good and contain NO FLOUR!
Recipe:
4 tbsp Blue Bonnet Light
1 c. Splenda
1 tsp vanilla extract
1 large egg
5 scoops chocolate whey
1/3 c. baking cocoa (unsweetened)
2 tsp baking powder
1 tsp baking soda
2 tbsp milk
Directions:
1. In a bowl, mix margerine and Splenda. Add egg and mix thoroughly. Add vanilla and mix again.
2. In a separate bowl mix together whey, baking soda, and baking powder. Add cocoa powder and mix again.
3. Pour wet ingredients into dry and mix, mix, mix. There will not seem to be enough wet ingredients. Just keep mixing. You will end up with a SUPER STICKY and thick batter
4. Pour the milk into the finished batter to soften it up to get it into a baking pan (believe me, it wont happen without the milk if you've done it right)
5. Bake at 350 for about 10 minutes. Then turn off the oven and let it sit in there another 10 minutes.
6. Cut into squares of desired size and devour.
Note: I only used 3/4 c. Splenda on this batch and it wasn't quite sweet enough for my liking, so I am putting a full cup in my recipe. If you like brownies with only a light sweetness you can go for the 3/4 c.
There! My work is DONE!
Wait...no it isn't...STATS!
Whole recipe (according to my food journal...check your ingredients against your own to verify)
734 cals, 33g fat, 18g carbs, 110g protein
Cut into 9 squares:

Not bad for a brownie...maybe tomorrow I'll just outdo myself and make some vanilla protein ice cream and have a protein brownie a la mode!

Today, I went out and bought some Body Fortress Vanilla just to make banana bread.
Now I have to go back to the store to get chocolate whey protein powder (which I can't stand to drink) just so I can make these. Do you think I could just use the vanilla and up the cocoa quotient?
I, as president of Mojave Desert chapter of Brownies Anonymous, thank you on our members' behalf.
