Protein brownie meringue-things (pic and recipe and stats)
stumbled across protein brownies. Fed by a PK-induced whey powder baking frenzy I combined the following:
1 c. chocolate whey + 1/4 tsp salt + 1 tsp baking powder + 1/4 c. baking cocoa
and
1 large egg, 4 tbsp blue bonnet light, 1 tsp vanilla extract, 1/4 c. splenda, 1/4 c. brown sugar twin
Wanted cookies. Put in piles on a cookie sheet in the oven. They look like meringues but taste like BROWNIES! And hot of the oven are the consistency of brownies. With no flour!
Good gravy PK...you never thought you'd start an experimental chain, did ya?
Don't know the stats or how they keep. Will post a pic in a bit.
ETA pic: sorry about the ugly shot but my cam was dying! The texture is very fluffy (so far...took a bite right out of the oven and then one after they'd been sitting for about 10 minutes and had cooled).

Made 12:

Hindsight being 20/20 they could have been smaller. The batter was small but then they puff up.
NOM!

Tonight I have eaten WAY too much in the cooking of all this stuff. Which inevitably means I'll have a little pouch day coming up.
ETA: le grande diva says, "it's good but it looks like fake food" (because of the shiny texture).

Give the baby a brownie meringue Mandy...if you don't have brown sugar twin just use 1/2 c. splenda...dunno why I used the brown sugar twin. I think it exists only to give sugar free stuff brown coloring but the cocoa does that already.
