Restaurant review -- Cracker Barrel
As many of you know, my food intake has been something less than stunning, so yesterday, when we were out and about, and hungry, we had the choice of Cracker Barrel and Uno's.
I chose Cracker Barrel, at the very least I could have an egg.
I was really shocked at how RNY-friendly CB actually is!! They actually have a whole section in the menu called "Low Carb Platters" (or something like that) with low-carb sides as well!! Still too much food for me right now, but they also print in the menu, "Kids Menu (for kids of all ages)".
Tip: Order from the kids menu when possible. . . its cheaper than ala carte. I ordered one egg, over medium and a 1/2 side (2 pcs) of bacon. It also came with a biscuit, which I only tasted, and only ate 1 pc. of bacon. YUUMMMM. . . and my meal came to $3.68!
And you can also order off the 'extras' part of the menu . . . a pork chop, some ham, you get the drift.
So, while the bulk of their menu choices are definitely very carby and not appropriate for us, this is definitely a RNY-friendly restaurant.
Who'd-a-thunk-it????
I give 'em two thumbs up!

That's not a tiara. I just bedazzle my horns.
Cracker Barrel has ALWAYS been one of my favorite resturants...although I haven't had the opportunity to eat there since surgery. I am originally from KY, so it was a big treat for us to get to go out and eat at CB (can I just say *pre-op* hashbrown casserole...nom, nom!) Anywho, there are NO CB's in Cali! Isn't that crazy? They stop in Arizona...when we moved back out here a few years ago, we drove and we would stop and eat at CB at each overnight stop. Thanks for the review, Squidsmom!
