There is a marble in my belly button!!

OK, I have not seen anyone else mention this on here, but my PS put a marble in my belly button at my one week post op.  He told me to clean it with alcohol and put bacitracin on it everyday and put it back in and cover it.  When he first did it in the office...I PASSED OUT!!  SO today I did it and I was ok.  I had to have my Mom put the bandaid on and pu**** in a little.  The PS said this is so the belly button doesnt get small.  It actually looks really good.

So does anyone else do this?

No, not me! Mine still has the steri strips all around it. I think it looks like it is going to be quite small though.

I didn't have a marble but the did hae it stuffed w/ a wick/ some gauze that was covered w/ some medication. That came out at about 2 weeks. was told to keep antibiotic ointment in the belly button for the next few weeks.

WOW, I thought I've heard it all but this is a first!!  It kind of makes sense though.  I'm not sure I'd be able to handle the maintenance of it....I'm kind of wuss with some of this stuff.  I probably would have fainted too!

It's interesting how each surgeon does things a little differently.  My surgeon cut me a very small BB because he said they tend to stretch.....so far mine has not stretched at all.  I'm not overly concerned about the size I'm just glad I have one and that I had no healing issues with it.

Hope it heals nicely for you!!!

I have heard of this from a handful of people in the past.  It's been a while though.  I don't know how my BB ended up nice and round.  Hasn't shrunk at all.  Maybe it's because I had the anchor cut??    Glad to hear you're past the passing out part!
