Perhaps you've heard the story of the man caught in a flood who had a deep faith in God. As the flood waters rose, his neighbors told him, "You have to leave, the flood is going to wash everything away."
Calmly, the man replied, "It's not a problem, God will save me."
As the waters continued to rise to the second floor of the man's house, a boat came by with rescuers. They said, "Quickly, get in, the flood is going to wash everything away."
Again the man replied, "It's not a problem, God will save me."
As the flood worsened, the man was forced to climb onto the roof of his home. A helicopter came, threw down a ladder and the rescuers said, "Climb up. The flood is about to wash everything away."
One more time, the man said, "It's not a problem, God will save me."
Finally, the flood washed everything away, and the man drowned.
When he reached heaven, he saw God. The first thing he asked was, "Lord, I was so certain you would save me, what happened?"
Very perplexed, God said to the man, "I just don't know, I sent neighbors, a boat and a helicopter to save you."
It is all iin the attitude and the Faith. Hugs, Marti

He feels that 4 Tablespoons a day is good for you. He suggests putting it in your coffee, but I drink my coffee black and I dont like the coconut taste in it, so I cook with it. I cook my two eggs in the morning, in with other veges or just alone in 2 Tbsp of virgin organic coconut oil and dump all the melted extra into my dish.
He also says that you need dietary B12 for Optimal BRAIN Health. Sources are Liver, organic calf, wild caught salmon, organic grass fed beef, lamb, organic free range eggs [I always use these, decided long ago this is not where I wanted to save grocery money]
He says the following are things to avoid in your diet to keep the mind sharp: Sugars, especially fructose, Grains, even whole, organic grains will convert to sugar in your body and spike your insulin levels, also Artificial sweetners like Aspartame,[ which he says is an excitoxin which can literally destroy your brain cells]Soy, unfermented soy products are another food to be avoided to maintain healthy brain. One study he told me about said that men who ate tofu at least twice a week had more cognitiver brain impairment than men who at none or little. Their tests results showed that the men who ate tofu twice a week were equivilent to what they would have been if they were five years older than their current age.
He told me I had to work very hard on normalizing my insulin levels ...and believe me without my GBP surgery, I could not have done it. He said that by NORMALIZING my insulin levels and my leptin levels it actually raises my production of BRAIN INSULIN, which is a good thing.
And of course exercise and good Vitamin D leverls are very important for good brain health. [I am not so good at doing my exercise, my bad]
He also cautions that when you start Cocnut Oil therapy that you start slow and always take with food to minimize stomach discomfort. It may take you a few weeks to work up to the four tablspoons of coconut oil required for a theraputic dose, that's normal.
Also the Coconut oil should be taken in the morning as it takes a minimum of 3 hours for the oil to covert to ketones and reach your brain. But for those already suffering from pre-Alzheimer's or Alzheimer condition, repeating a dose of 4 tbsp 2'xs a day may be helpful.
He gave me this link to listen/watch...I give it to you.
Take care, Marti

I stopped at the Library on my way home to pick up a book they were holding and while I was waiting to pull into a parking place, a lady backed right into me. She said she had been watching him and did not see me. But as I was standing still and she all of a sudden put her car in reverse and back out, I hit the horn as she wa****ting me and hit my right front bumper.
I have a big heavy car...a caddilac sedan de ville, so she had to really be backing up fast, becuse something is rubbing my wheel and I can't drive my car...which is a real hassle, being a Realtor. I do have coverage to pay for a rental car, but that is a also hard because I hate learning a new car.
Ooops my insurance comp just called and they are ordering me a Caddilac through Enterprise, they only pay $30 a day, and I will have to pay the extra $9.24 a day and my deductible. That is why it is sucha hassle with a little "fender bender".
Do any of you watch the Bachelor? I can't believe that Courtney is still there.....I think he is going to pick her....
Well I need to hop in the shower and get on wieth my day. Take care, M

My Office mate has gone to Mexico for a week and so I ham handling her business also. Dh and I took her dogs...Giant Malamutes...but oh so sweet to the Pet Spa on Sat. morning...they can pull 1,500 lbs of sleds, so pulling me around is nothing..they are just so rambunctious. She called on the way to the airport, at the airport and again when she arrived in Minneapolis to connect to Mexico....worrying about her babies and if I could ge them to the Spa.....Now I just have to pick them up on Friday....Yikes.
Vicki, you are smart to stay as neutral as possible when selling your house. It is easier for Buyers, some buyer object to intense colors, even those they are very well done.
It is a big job to get ready to sell and then to live in a house that is for sale is an even bigger challenge....keep it constantly in showe ready condition. No one really lives that way....and belirverd me I have ben selling homes for over 30 years.
Eileen, glad to see your second one worked out and just one polyp.
Well, just thought I would check on you gals and now I might lie down and take a short nap, before I go to the office to meet my Buyer. BTW ..it worked with me going out to get the Centrak Air Estimate, because that helped her make her decision. Sometimes it works out good.
I teach Religious Ed on Sunday nights and boy do we get into some discussions. I am always surprised ay what some of the children [Freshmen in HS] will share about their lives. I have to keep a firm rein on them or some of them would flyoff into the stratosphere....and they are very sharp....most of them at least...so they keep me on my toes. I don't think I will do this again next year, I just need more down time. I work 7 days a week and I really don't have enough down time....I think I am burning out.
Takr care, M
ps we are having spring in Wisconsin...it is gorgeous weather....and I usually hate Feb as being soooo cold and gloomy...but he sun is out and it is 45 degrees....Love it!

I have a friend that is 75 years old and dying of colon cancer. Never had a colonoscopy until she was very sick and then was told she had a grade 4 cancer....not good...they are not fun...but very very necessary....be sure to get it done...sooner rather than later. So important to know your colon health. So don't be like her and just "not want to deal with it."
I have been out and about being "Ruthie Realtor" today. Had to meet a heating and AC guy at a house, so that he can do an estimate of installing central air. My buyer looks at all kinds of houses and keeps coming back to this one, but the fact that it has ho****er heat and no ducts for AC iand that is the killer of the deal. So I took it upon myself to see how much money we are talking about.
I have been busy setting up showing appointments for the weekend. I am booked all weekend with three different sets of Buyers. So the market is sure picking up. It takes quite a awhile to figure out the times to set up because you have to map all the houses first....and how long to get from house to house....and factor in time spent at house.
I really do love my job, but there is a lot of work on computer prior to going out to be with the buyers, which is the fun part. I get to help them make their dreams come true. ...and that is a rush.
My husband is at me to go to the movie and see "Safe House" so I guess I will take some time off and go with him.
Take care, Marti

Oh I wish we lived close and I would come over and get you to feed me all the time, you are such a good cook.
I have been so busy in real estate that when I have down time I practically need to be in a vegetative state, with no phone calls, no thinking period.
I am missing some ingredients, i.e tapioca flour and potato starch. I will get these on my list.....God only knows if my DH will be able to find them when he goes to the store next.

I was wondering what is your favorite breakfast and what do you eat most often... that is good for you. I need new ideas.
I usually fix egg white omlet with sliced mushrooms,onions,mini-peppers,sometimes left over vege from previous night and whatever looks good that day.like tomatoes etc. I put in all kinds of different seasonings, sometimes Italian and sometimes Indian. I also throw in a little crumbled Feta or Blue cheese and then pour in egg substitute.[I go to Aldi's and buy about 8 cartons of them., $1.89 ]Makes big platefull. and I read my newspaper, drink my coffee and I am ready for the day. If I think it will be tight on time in the morning, I have sliced it all up and put it in a baggie and then I just have to cook it up. Oh, yes I forgot the Turkey bacon. If you slice right across the top on the bacon pack, that is about one slice. This is lots of satisfying food and low calorie.
What do you make?
I have a grandson's basketball this morning and showing houses this afternoon.
Too nasty to go out last night so we stayed in and rented a movie, I fell asleep and missed the end," Ides of March."DH woke me up and put me to bed.I think it was the glass of wine and the fire in the fireplace...too much.
What's happening with you today? M
