Sunday What's Up?

 Good Morning OFF Family,
Sorry about the Tigers losing game one.  Congrats to the Texas fans.

I am up early.  Had a headache all night last night.  Allergies are through the roof lately.  Also, my lower back is plaguing me, in a new spot now.

Sunday has me getting to church, and then watching my Eagles to see if they can snap out of their losing streak.

I also have to get to an AA meeting.  After my surgery, I won't be attending any for about five or six days.  I won't be able to drive for about two weeks.  I will hitch some rides.

Hope everyone has a blessed day, and finds at least one thing to be grateful for.

Hugs,
Trish

Morning Trish and all who follow.
Sober 343 days and so proud of me. Declaring my sobriety each day here is powerful and helps me reaffirm my commitment to myself. The bottle of Jack sits on the floor across from me...it does not call my name (like good crusty bread does). I have no desire for "it" to take me away. Happy in my body and mind. Grateful for YOU all, collectively and individually. Making strides on my OCDing about stuff.
Not much planned. Rain here and lots of it. Enjoying the downpours and the sound it makes. Never had a dog that dislikes water and puddles so much. He averts all puddles...our walk should be interesting. Many people camping for the long weekend.Wishing it was nicer for their visit. Hoping the Giants and Patriots win. Hoping the baseball games are exciting for those who follow them.
Waiting for the birth of our new Gchild. Excitement abounds. Got all the ingredients needed for Laureens pancakes, will make them later today. Grating the apples will be interesting....don't have a big grater. Have a blessed Sunday. Happiness for all and peace.

You know, when my husband quit smoking, he kept a carton of cigarettes in his closet.  I kept wanting to throw them away, but he said, no.  He said this way it was HIS choice.  He's been smoke-free for 6 years this November.  I'm so very proud of him for that!

Proud of you, too, Monica!  I can only imagine what you and Trish and Laureen and others have been through, but I can sure appreciate how hard you all have worked to reclaim your lives from alcohol.  It is an honor to know each of you and call you my friends!

Good mornin' ya'll.
Trish, I hope your back feels better soon and that your surgery goes smoothly.
Monica, I, too are very proud of you! When we lived in our fifth wheel I loved the sound of rain on the roof. What's the country song say 'when the tin roof gets to talking it's the best love we've made".
Today, finish a princess costume, leather swashbuckler pants and maybe a couch cushion.
Gotta go. Got my BLT boys here.
Have a fantabulous day!

Good morning, everyone!

It's a rainy gray morning here at Hilltop, but the rain is so very welcomed after this drought that we don't mind a little damp.  The deer are very happy to have us back again.  Hubby was out there feeding them early this morning and he just looked so happy.  It's been a long time since he has been here at Hilltop.

We got to have a nice visit with our daughter in Waco Friday night.  Took her out for dinner.  She and her dad are very close and such good pals.  It was a joy just to sit there and watch them interact with one another.

Then, yesterday we got to see Chris and Benny.  OMGoodness.  Papaw was in 7th heaven!  He played and played with that little boy.  Such cute giggles!

Today our main focus is to re-start the guest bathroom project.  Of course, we had to put everything away last summer, so I imagine most of today will be dragging it all back out again and getting all of our tools and supplies organized again.  We basically have 1 week to get as much done as we can.  Hubby's knee surgery is scheduled for next Friday in Houston.  After that, the main focus will be for his recuperation.

Enjoy your beautiful Sunday, no matter what the weather!

Love you all!

Glad to see that the pall of a few days ago on this forum has lifted.
It's a warm, dry, beautiful weekend here is southwestern Ontario, and a long weekend, also.  Monday is our Thanksgiving and I am off wor****il Tuesday.
I am trying to get much of the outdoor work done before the colder weather begins.  I keep telling myself to take the bulbs out of the ground, but so many of the plants still look so good; however, I will be pretty angry with myself to wait and then have to do this chore when it is frigid and windy.  Better now than later!
I also have work to prepare/mark for next week, so I will be busy for the next two days.  I love being outside with my two furry brats and I love my job, so the work shouldn't be too bad.
Thinking of all of you and your triumphs as well as your tribulations.

Hi Trish and my OFF family:

Stayed up til 3 a.m. reading after the ballgame ended late; I had started reading this novel about the 4th Crusade called "Crossed." Interesting book. I don't know much about the Crusades so this is all new to me. I wasn't sure if I was going to stay with it, but it has gotten pretty interesting. I will have to look up the 4th Crusade online and learn more about it.

I didn't get too much done yesterday other than laundry but I did get some stuff listed on eBay that I wanted to sell ... some clothes that I don't wear but are too good to just give away to Goodwill. They are really nice Quacker Factory embellished clothes ... jeans and tops ... in mediums, 16s and larges if you want to look at them. Look for my name, eabriesch, if you want to see them. I hope to get some more stuff listed. Some of it will be sweaters, too, because it's too warm down here to wear them at this time of year, and I'm not wearing them at all.

I wanted to get my Halloween stuff up ... I did get some stuff out, but not up. Oh well.

Back to work today; tummy was acting up earlier, not quite sure why, but it seems everything is out and OK now.

Monica, you keep proclaiming your sobriety. It's important to you, so it's important to us.

Mag, I loved the Biltmore Estate; went there with my brother and after climbing all the stairs was dead tired the next day but it was really neat and interesting. We went in April so it wasn't so hot. It was gorgeous and I'd love to spend more time out there.

Trish, doesn't sound good for your Eagles ... just heard Vick was picked off three times. Ouch! My Bears play tomorrow night, so I'll miss that.

Anyway, have a good day. Back to work for me today.

 Hi Eileen,
Yes, the Eagles game is torture, kind of like watching a train wreck.  From the way it looks, they left the defense and offensive line in Philadelphia when they got on the plane to Buffalo  It should not be this way, given they fired the defense's coach last year, and this Juan Castllo was supposed to turn things around for the team.  I was at last week's game, in the rain, and it was sheer torture at the end.

Hope the rest of your day goes well,

Hugs,
Trish

Hi Everyone,
I'm on my way to San Francisco for my "BOOB" appointment. The oncologist checks me every six months plus I get a super duper mammogram. I will be staying three days and my daughter is coming with me so it will be more active than usual. We will need to shop... I think the Union Square Macy's will be one stop. I also want to go to Gumps. I've never been there but I love the catalog. I can probably afford one ornament. I'm hoping that nothing goes wrong with this appointment because it's 3 months late. My Mom was occupying my time when it was due and I postponed it. It should be a beautiful three days in San Francisco- close to 75 degrees predicted. We are staying in the Japanese hotel and it is always calm and beautiful. It's called the Kabucki Hotel if you are curious.
