What a difference a year makes--(B & A pictures)

I had my one year post op visit today and weighed in on the same scale as last year at exactly 70lbs lost!!! WOO HOO!! My doctor was very happy with my results so far. I only have 21-26lbs to reach the goal my Dr. has set for me.  The weight loss lap-band has helped me to achieve has made such an amazing difference not just in my health and appearance but in other ways like these:

- I started in a size 20/ 2X and am now a 10/ Medium
- I can exercise without wanting to drop to the floor panting after a mere 10 minutes.
- I can wrap a normal sized towel completely around me.
- I am not embarrassed to be seen in pictures and no longer have to try to hide behind my kids.
- I can cough, sneeze, and exercise with out tinkling
- I no longer have to shop in the big girls department and am too small (gasp) to wear clothes from Lane Bryant
- I am in a far better mood all around.
- My hair has stopped falling out at a rediculous pace from my PCOS related symptoms.
- My periods have returned to normal after 10 years of extreme abnormalities including troubles conceiving and miscarriage.
- I cook and eat far healthier than I did 1 year ago and am far more aware of what is going into my body.

I have no doubt there is more, but I can truly say I have no regreats and couldn't be happier with my decision to have the Lap Band surgery.

Here are my before and after images:

Great!
Your before sounds a lot like me now.  I hope I can be as successful as you have been when I am one year out.  Now if I could just get started---still waiting on insurance approval.
Blessings, Kathy

Dont give up, it is worth all of the trouble...really! It took me 15 months to get a Dr. who would refer me after jumping through major hoops, then I was denied. I won my appeal and am extremely happy that I stuck through that difficult 18 months of just trying to get approved. Best of luck, you will be there before you know it!

Aww thanks, I most definitely would not go that far, but I appreciate the compliment. I am just glad to feel normal. I hated sticking out like a sore thumb.
