Swinging Critters?

I'm sorry to be so oblivious, but what are swinging critters?  I see this a lot in reference to "help" and "prayers" but I have no idea what they are.  I've seen "swinging critters" "swinging chickens" and "swinging kitties" and have some pretty amusing mental images but am not sure how to connect them to well wishes.

Anyone available to fill me in?

For those of us who don't believe in a religion, we "Swing Critters".  There are religions out there that swing chickens or rabbits or whatever in ritual dances as a form of prayer.  National Geographic stuff.

LOL   At one point I had wondered the same thing!!  I don't particular like the phrase "swinging critters" or any other thing to be swinging as it sounds rather voo-doo'ish to me .... would much rather hear "prayers going up" for believers or "positive vibes and thoughts being sent your way" from non-believers ... but I guess it is just a different way to send positive vibes ... so it's all good.

I am a faith person, but I see the swinging critters as a fun way to express well wishes for someone. 

Maybe I'm more relaxed about it because I wouldn't actually do anything harmful to any of my critters and believe that most of us OHers feel the same way.  Also, many people on here seem to have great fun with each other and I really enjoy the sharing and joking.

I hope you find some of the same humor as well as the great information that is available here!
