I have a question... lately on another group I belong to which is dominately RnY'ers they've all be doing this '5 day pouch reset'.  I glaze right past it since I know it's a non-issue for me but there's a newly post-op DS'er who asked about it.  I suggested, as per what I remember on here when I was newly post-op, that she eat a Krispy Kreme to beat a plateau.  Was I wrong?  If this still works can anyone tell me the gist if why it works?  I'm pretty sure I had done it when I plateaued and it worked... ^^;

There are a couple of things that could make the Krispy Kreme thing work.  But the main thing is that it just shakes things up a bit.  It adds carbs and fats to the diet which can sort of jump start the loss. And they are soooooooooooooooooooo good particularly when they are hot! Red

I think sometimes we eat so little for the first few months (12 months + for some) that our bodies almost go into starvation mode.  It's *good* (my opinion) to do low carb because it gets us our protein and maximizes weight loss.  BUT sometimes we need to shake things up - show our body that we are not starving.  Every couple of weeks for the first 6-8 months I'd have a few donuts... My preference is Dunkin' Donuts.  I'd throw in some pizza and rice krispie treats (yum) and then sit and wait....  it always worked!!

Kinda in the same regard sometimes new post-ops eat too few calrories and throwing in that donut gets them up to where they should be.  My nut said to eat at least 1000-1200 calories a day so I did.

I'm so glad I don't have to recondition my pouch... or whatever the heck they are doing!

KK's are the SHIZZLE!!!

They just kick your body in the fanny and get it back into gear.  Early out, it only takes one or two, so its not like you're going butt-wild or anything.
