Topic: RE: 4 year surgiversary!
Thanks for posting! I am a newbie (6 wks post op). It's very motivating to see that this "can" be done and has been done. And those simple things in life, such as, clothes shopping, fitting in a airplane seat, going to the gym etc. that are very hard/frustrating to do when you are over weight can only be appreciated by those of us going through the same thing.
I really do believe my mental food issues are going to be my biggest challenge on this Journey.
Thanks for the inspiration, Tami

Topic: RE: Thyroid condition and soy products question
I also have hypothyroidism...I was also told by my PCP not to consume anything until after 30 min to hr of taking my medication first thing in the morning on a empty stomach, especially soy and mutivitamins. From what I understand it has something to do with the obsorption and effects the medications...but I am not an expert, just repeating what I was told by my PCP.
Have you heard anything about certain vitamins and herbs effecting the effectiveness of the medications?
I also heard that patients with Hypothyroidism are a greater risk in relation to Bariatric surgery..Is that so?
Please let me know what you learn,,obviously I need to learn more about this as well..thanks TamiN
