It's totally natural for her to feel that way right now, especially because of the pain and discomfort she's probably experiencing.  I had the exact same feelings, but i promise you that it will all get better, and several months down the road, she won't regret having the surgery anymore, because results will be obvious believe me!  The first month is just really hard...

Hang in there!

Health and happiness are just around the corner...

for the record, i forgot to mention that my husband was a miserable alcoholic, but i'm sure i would've stayed with him anyway, if not for the surgery.

my husband and i separated in January, and are getting divorced this month.

i was unfulfilled in my marriage prior to the surgery, but i would never have had the courage to leave him if not for all the confidence and self-esteem i gained as a result of the surgery.

after i lost all the wait i started getting so much attention from men, that i slowly started to realize that life is too short to stay in an unhappy relationship when there are other opportunities out there.

Evelyn :)

Good luck!!!

Has anyone heard that it's ok to drink within the 30 minutes before meals?  i know you're not supposed to drink during or 30 min to an hour after meals, but what about right before hand?

I'm unclear about this anymore.  I used to follow the no drinking rule before meals strictly, but i've been post op for a while, and while i've gotten back to no drinking during and after meals, just not sure about the before meals question.

Thanks for your help!

Thanks for the thoughts and prayers....

i have been guilty of not exercising, but i'm starting today!!  Walking for 30 minutes.  I'm also going to try going back to 3 meals per day with a small snack between breakfast and lunch and then a snack between lunch and dinner.

Hopefully that will take care of these *******ly 10 lbs!!

I'm 3 years out, and after reaching my goal weight, i gained 10 lbs in the last 2 months.  How do i know if i need revision surgery?

i still eat generally small portions of food, but too often during the day.

thank you!  i love your recipe for the protein shake for breakfast.  I'm totally going to do this, especially since you add coffee to it!!

the diet that i was on for the last 2 years (as per my doctor) included no bread-type products what so ever, i.e. bread, pasta, rice, cereal, etc.  Only meats, dairy, vegetables/ fruits, and anything sugar free.  Don't know if i should use this diet to figure out exchanges or not.  What if i just join WW online?

also, i haven't drank a protein shake/ drink in probably a year.  do you think i need to re-introduce protein drinks into my diet as a substitute for a meal during the day?  perhaps breakfast?

when i say eating carbs, i meant bread products like pasta, rice, bread, cereal, etc.  up until a few months ago, i was totally not eating anything like that, and i was super strict about my sugar intake.  wouldn't eat anything with more than 6 grams of sugar in it.  (i'm not including fruit though, which i let myself eat freely)

i haven't been exercising, because before i started cheating with "bread' products, i was losing weight and keeping if off just fine without the exercise.  i'm totally guilty of drinking with my meals.  remind me again please, i'm not supposed to drink during a meal or after for like 30 min right?

i am almost 3 years out, and after reaching my goal weight, i recently gained 10 pounds.  i had been basically following a carb-free diet ever since i had my surgery, but in the last 3 months i started to cheat, and hence the weight gain.

Just wondering if my best bet for losing the weight now is to go back to eating carb-free or not.

Any suggestions on what has worked in the long-run for you graduates out there??

Thanks !

cherries, pineapple and watermelon are my favorite fruits, but they seem to be really sweet... so is it ok for me to eat these foods or not?
