You probably have had at least one hepatitis that you don't know about: non-alcoholic steatohepatitis or NASH due to obesity.
If your ALT or AST come back over 20 (yes you read that right) you should not drink.
Because in the end, your liver doesn't care.
Liver disease is the largest of the undiagnosed illnesses. Why? Because by the time you are diagnosed, your liver can be beyond repair. It will still function toapoint but it 's ability to process fats from your body or to regulate your sugar will be extremely limited.
And you liver will not be judgemental. Because your liver doesnot care.

don't for get the part abou hepC
that the tattoo parlors are largely unregulated (yeah, I know Osha, which protects the workers, not nhe clients)
oh, and don't forget that CIDEX is tested on bovine virus, not hepC
and one more thing, tell people that it isn't the ink or the wells, it's the cross contamination because HepC can live OUTSIDE the body for up to 16 hours, more if it is in confined space.
Now look around you.
Get tested for HepC. Nobody needs another liver disease on top of the one caused by obesity.
The risk goes up the more tattoos you have.
If you going to have a child, the tramp stamp is hugely risky. I hope it is worth it.
The art is nice though. Unfortunately, not the only consideration.

Whether a social drinker or an alcoholic, your liver doesn't care.
Between Non alcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH, your history of heavy alcohol use, and the smoking, plus any hepatitis undiagnosed, the physical problems from this could cause you great distress.
The trouble is that some people will never be affected. The downside is we can't identify them until liver failure sets in. By that time, it could be too late,
Simply from a medical standpoint, this is dangerous. What you will do about it wiill be up to you. But I urge you to find something that will work for you.

Beware those who try to sell you something that tastes WONDERFUL.
Let's pull the blinders off, they taste awful.
I tried a lot of them and came away from it using the natural method, in your food.

Your liver doesn't care.
When you drink alcohol, it goes directly to the liver. And your liver doesn't care.
When you drink as much as you have, your liver doesn't care.
In time, your liver will be affected, and your liver doesn't care.
Everyone who has been overweight has had the effects of NASH, nonalcoholic steatohepatitis.
Some will never be affected by the drinking, but we can't tell who they are.
and, your liver doesn't care.

It's true. B-12 is very important.
But the role of fats, yes fats are important, too.
Try to add olive oil to your diet.
good luck

First things first, you could die. But remaining fat could kill you, too. Only you can decide what the risk are. And, 3 deaths out of 550 isn't terrible. Find out, from you doctor, the exact ature of these deaths.
No more coffee? Weird. I drink scads of coffee every day. I will tell you that in the first year or so, it's not wise, But after a while, not so bad.
The real deal is giving up on alcohol. It is a big deal even if people deny it. But the truth is, you should give up on it anyway. Google NASH.
The rest of the "information" is for the first part of the surgery. Now cake at your wedding is ifffy, Some will dump on it, some won't. There are plenty of alternatives.
The fact is, you can live without most of this stuff. It is going to take your brain a while to get the concepts. You can do it but it will take time. I amnot sure this is the best place for good information, but take what you can and leave the rest. You have time to sort grain from chaff.
Relax and good luck.

You, I believe, have to come to a decision about which surgery you want first.
Personally, the lap band sucks for most people. Avoid it.
Next check out the RNY, DS, and the VSB. I don't know enough about them to be very knowledgeable about them. I think it has to do with keeping up with vitamins, but I really don't know.
Don't simply accept what the doctor prescribes. He isn't going to live with it and you are. It matters to do your homework because a do-over is expensive and time consuming.
Good luck.

I lived on miso soup. My husband would get it from the corner sushi joint.
There are also mixes available at places like Trader Joe's.
5-6 sips is better than I could do at first.
Do it frequently and go easy on yourself. Stressing yourself is not helpful.
good luck.
