1. What percentage of people who have RNY have RH? Are there any studies?

2. What percentage of people who DUMP get RH?

3. Are people who are transitory dumpers (who get over their dumping syndrome) more or less likely to develop RH?

4. Is RH transitory like regular dumping is for some folks?

5. What are the symptoms of RH?

6. Aside from simple carbs, what meals/fooods might set off RH?

Very informative!!!

I found it interesting that waking up with a headache is a sign that a RH episode might have taken place over night. I often wake with a headache.

Thanks for the information. Just curious about these things.

 Sure thing.

That 4-5am headache is often a sign of a crash from the middle of the night.

What's the best thing to avoid a late-night crash?

 Eat.

Eat right as you are HITTING THE SHEETS.

Complex carb, fat, protein - - or a blood sugar "control" snack -- (these exist) --

So a handful of Ritz is OUT

But a handful of nuts is IN?

(hmmm.... strangely, when I switched my bedtime snack from ritz to nutz, I had far fewer headaches)

Waking up with headaches can also mean low oxygen levels (hypoxemia) or sleep apnea.  Not alway RH.  I had RH before my revisions and know during the day when I get a headache it usually a RH reaction.  Eat protein and low GI foods will help.

I never had a sleep study but there never seemed any indicator of sleep apnea with me.. I do know that the worst headaches I get aer when I take Ambien, I always wake with a splitting headache after using it, so I use it only very rarely.

Thanks. I did not see that before. I get my morning headaches. Hate them.
