I think we'd need to know more about before anyone can give you any input beyond the basics of each surgery.

You'll lose about the same amount of weight with either but with bypass you'll have a pouch and stoma, like a lap band in that sense.
Sleeves are safer, it removes the hunger causing hormone Ghrelin, no maintenance, fewer vites.

The band got me to goal, the sleeve will keep me there.

I am a big fan of researching all 4 surgery options and reading about what postop life is like for all of those and see which would be best for me. I am a DS girl through and through but if it was rny vs. sleeve it would be the sleeve.
The thought of a pouch, dumping, blind stomach, no nsaids, chewing food to a paste, stuck food etc. is enough to scare me away from a rny any day!

You got a fast car
But is it fast enough so you can fly away
You gotta make a decision

thanks everyone, ok heres some more info, i need to lose about 100lbs - im 257lbs right now, i have no heath problems except PCOS. Im not really a big sweets eater. Im not sure what else to put, i have done alot of research on RNY but none so far on the sleeve(since i didnt know it was offered to me) The one thing i like about the sleeve is that it doesn't cut the intestines.
You aren't that big...and you don't have any health problems...plus sweets are not your thing...the sleeve is probably a good choice. I initially was going for a sleeve myself, but ended up needing an RNY for other reasons not related to weight loss. But for that...I would have gotten a sleeve. The only way I wouldn't (in your situation) is if I had bad GERD (which was my problem, and another consideration). But if you don't...a sleeve would be my choice if I were you.
I just had my final consult with the surgeon who went on and on about how much he likes the sleeve for young people in particular. Fewer long term risks- some of which stay with you for alifetime- and the option to revise to RNY or DS if needed in the future. Good luck with your decision- seems if a person is committed to the change they'll have good results with any of the procedures.
