Wow, very interesting. Now, pardon my ignorance because I had RNY, but is there any danger if he takes a hit to his stomach? That wouldn't cause a problem with his port?

According to my doc, no!  I actually asked about this and he told me that one of his patients is a keen amateur boxer and another plays rugby (a bit like NFL but without any padding!!).

He said it might be more painful if someone wa**** directly on the port but there would be no more actual damage than such a hit would cause to an non-banded person.

Highest 290, Banded - 248   Lowest 139 (too thin!). Comfort zone 155-165.

Happily banded since May 2006.  Regain of 28lbs 2013-14.  ALL GONE!

But some has returned! Up to 175, argh! Off we go again,
