You know, dumping isnt an issue if you eat like you are supposed to, and not the things that make you dump...it all comes down to discipline and I should know. Good Luck.

Talk with your surgeon on what surgery is gonna be best for you...do your research too.. There are many different reason for each type of surgery..I would have liked the DS, but was not an option with my Insurance...I considered sleeve because of wanting to continue taking motrin, but my surgeon thought I also needed some malabsorbtion too. Lap band was never in my considerations at all..too many issues...So RNY was a viable, good option that met all my wants and needs...Make sure you check into all of them.. There are lots of good info out there to find...( I also bought the book Weight loss surgery for Dumbies) It had alot of sensible info too...Good luck in your journey
I am hoping with the weight loss that the motrin will no longer be an issue since I can no longer use it..

Congrats!!!! I know that you'll do great. As for dumping, I don't think the sleeve has any dumping, but I could be wrong. I haven't dumped yet since I had my RNY, but we are all individual and react differently to different things. Good luck to you!

You aren't wrong Lisa, the sleeve doesn't have the dumping affect.  Although I have heard a few DSers experience something similiar to dumping.....so I guess on an odd chance it could be a side affect.

Even non-ops *can* have dumping episodes, but it's very rare.

I think the Sleeve would be better for you, since there's no malabsorption so you don't have to be as concerned about taking vitamins and supplements, or eating 100+ grams of protein a day.
