Sick of protein shakes

I had surgery March 31st and have lost 30 lbs. since then but one thing lately I've noticed is that I've been avoiding protein shakes because they are starting to taste awful to me. I have strawberry and chocolate powder and had been making 'protein coffee' with the chocolate powder and doing okay with that for awhile but now I just can't stomach the clumpiness.   Is my only option to eat meat all day? Any protein bar suggestions?

You can get Protein Powders from GNC and if you don't like them take them back OPENED! With your receipt within 30 days. Here my list of the ones I like~

Champion Cappuccino

Champion Chocolate Truffle

GNC Chocolate

These are the ones I have tried and likes so far. Try ordering the samples from Vitalady.com and see if you find one you like. Also I know it says mix it with water but YUCK! Mix it with low fat milk!!

GNC have some really good protein breezers.  It's like a summer drink and you get the protein you need.  It's great for this time of year when it's hot out and you don't want to have any shakes with milk... just add water.  Hopefully these work for you!

Are you mixing the protein straight to the hot coffee?  If so, try disolving the protein powder in a little water first like a paste then add to the coffee, it's wayyyyyyy better and it shouldn't clump up on you.

Yes I was putting it right in the cup.  Thanks for the tip! I'll try this.

I understand why you are tired of it, the clumps are disgusting.  Once you mix it in a little water or even milk, slowly pore it into your coffee.  I love chocolate or vanilla protein in my coffee.

Oops also wanted to mention the Optimum Nutrition Gold Standard from GNC is the bomb.  The double rich chocolate and vanilla ice cream or my favorites.  You can also order a sample of various flavors from http://www.bodybuilding.com/store/opt/whey.html?CJAID=106030 46&CJPID=2678188 but to me it was a waste of money because I'm usually just a chocolate and vanilla girl.  I now add frozen fruit to my vanilla if I want a different flavor.  I've even added pumpkin in the can (not pie mix, straight pumpkin) with cinnamon to the vanilla and it's good.

Other suggestions are adding s/f jello or s/f pudding to protein to change the taste.

I was considering trying the unflavored Unjury in something to see if I could tolerate that.  I do usually mix them with skim milk--I too am one who cannot stand them with water!  I didn't know that about GNC though, I will have to try them out.  The one I got from Wal-mart is gritty for the last sip (yuckkkkkkk) and the chocolate EAS one from Target is clumpy.  I even tried whisking it in my coffee and it still wouldn't un-clump. YUCK!

I use jay rob protein powder with skim milk add bannana and sf cookie, i actually like it so much i can't wait to have it, the vanilla and choclate is my fave, i think it was made for women because it's so good, and also I use pure protein bars they are really good and have 20 grams of protein per bar 2 grams of sugar, you can find them at walmart, target try them .
