Plateau Buster Diet Questions

Hey all you experts out there, I was wondering if you could enlighten me on the Plateau Buster Diet.  Doris posted it for me last night and I'm looking at it, thinking if this might kick me out of my stall I have found myself in.  It's so depressing and I wonder if I'll ever kick out of it, I need to do something quick! What can you eat along with the items on the list?  3 oz of peanut butter, on what?  Beans/legumes all by themselves, cooked how?  3oz of meat, plain or how do I cook that? Any of you that have done this, how do you realistically do this for 2 weeks and stick to it?  Any suggestions, please!!!! Melissa in IL ******************************** Plateau Buster Diet

How to break a plateau

#1 - Do this for 10 days to break a plateau

#2 - Drink 2 quarts of water a day

#3 - You must have 45 grams of protein supplement and all your vitamins/minerals supplements each day

#4 - You may consume up to 3 oz of the following high protein foods, 5x a day

beef
pork
chicken
turkey
lamb
fish
eggs
low fat cheese
cottage cheese
plain yogurt or artificially sweetened (?)
peanut butter
beans/legumes

You may also have:

sugar free popsicles
tea or coffee
sugar free soda
sugar free jello
broths/bullion (sp?)
crystal light drinks

#5 - If it's not on the list, you can't have it for 10 days!!!!

#6 - Keep a food diary and try to get up to 30 mins of exercise daily

Have you tried or heard of the 5 day pouch test? I havent tried the plateau buster diet yet but I have done the 5DPT twice. Last time I lost 7 pounds.  It's not for everyone but it works for me. Heres a link to it. http://www.5daypouchtest.com/index.html

the 5 day pouch test: Here are some basics and you canread more here http://www.5daypouchtest.com/index.html Some people call this extreme Others swear by it and do it often. I have done it twice and have lost weight both times. It's a back to basics approach. They have an online forum much like this one where the support is excellant for those doing the 5DPT and those who just need advice/support.

The 5 Day Pouch Test should never leave you feeling hungry. You can eat as much of the prescribed menu as you want during the day to satiate hungry and prevent snacking on slider foods and/or white carbs. You must drink a minimum of 64 ounces of water each day. A reduction of caffeinated beverages is suggested, but do not stop caffeine cold turkey.

Weight loss is not the intent of the 5 Day Pouch Test, however, many who have tried this plan report a significant drop in weight. More importantly they celebrate a renewed sense of control over their pouch and eating habits and easily transition back to a healthy post-surgical weight loss way of eating.

Days One & Two: Liquid Protein low-carb protein shakes, broth, clear or cream soups, sugar-free gelatin and pudding. Read more.

Day 3: Soft Protein canned fish (tuna or salmon) eggs, fresh soft fish (tilapia, sole, orange roughy. Read more.

Day 4: Firm Protein ground meat (turkey, beef, chicken, lamb), shellfish, scallops, lobster, fresh salmon or halibut. Read more.

Day 5: Solid Protein white meat poultry, beef steak, pork, lamb, wild game Read more.

I'm soooooooooooooooooooo going to do this!  I have been tinkering around the same weight for 6 weeks and I BADLY need to do something about it.  I am going to try it and let y'all know if it worked for me!

OK y'all...I just finished the 5DPT last week and.......IT WORKED!  I LOST 6 POUNDS IN A WEEK!!!!!!  I MADE MY GOAL!!  So, I have pretty much just kicked the slider foods to the curb and I'm just focusing on protein only!  It's the only way I'm going to lose my weight ;)  ANYWAYS TRY THIS IT WORKS!!!!!!!

I'm not waiting another second.  I will be starting this Plateau Buster Diet TOMORROW.  Hope I can hold out for 10 whole days!!
