Hunger is nowhere near what it was pre sleeve, but like aniduff said, carbs can trigger the desire to eat (in my case sometimes the wrong foods) For the first months I completely lost the desire for sugary foods and can still pass up most things easily, but I am a bit of a grazer so I need to watch that. Stalls have been with me too since about 3 weeks out, but in spite of them (some lasted for 4 weeks) I have still lost 65lbs.
Just keep the faith that it will come off, it is just about learning what is going to work for you. Some of those who have posted on here who have been sooooooo disappointingly slow with their losses have continued to lose. I am definitely a slower loser too, but I am 100% okay with that. Marion

You have your family well trained if they suck it up and don't complain when the food is less than good.

I was absolutely a grazer before my VSG, and I would still call myself a grazer of sorts because I eat about six times a day. The difference is that I cannot eat even close to what I did before, I am quickly satisfied when I do eat, and even if I wanted to, I couldn't eat more than my little tummy can hold. I know exactly when I have had enough. Even my food choices have changed, I used to have a sweet tooth, and while I indulge in the odd treat occasionally, I prefer the healthier options now. I had convinced myself when I was a yo yo dieter than if there was a small percentage who would fail, then I would fit into that slot. I had a lap band 2005 and I believed I was a failure with that too as I watched all my banded friends lose lots of weight. My problem turned out to be a mechanical fault with the band so finally I could accept that it wasn't my fault that I had such a poor result. In the early months after my revision, I really wanted to believe that the sleeve would work for me, but I still wasn't 100% sure until I saw new photos of myself and realized that I was looking really good. Without my sleeve I would be 65lbs heavier, so yes, I believe it will help you too! Marion

You know - there are so many different post op dietary requirements imposed by our surgeons that it is hard to know what to do. Everyone on the forum says to follow your surgeons orders to the letter so that there is little pressure on the staple line for the first couple of weeks at least.
In my own case, I was allowed to go onto full liquids after the first couple of days - as long as they were blended and very runny - so this included lump free soups. My surgeon's mantra was....if you can get it up a straw, you can have it! After about a week I could have runny, lump free mashed potato and gravy, smoothies, yogurt, custard etc and I stuck with those foods for a while, because I was mindful that my stomach needed the best chance to heal. I did not have serious problems with hunger at all I am sure, because I didn't have to do the clears like many in the USA have to do. At about 3 - 4 weeks out I could start adding other foods like scrambled eggs etc. By my 5 week check I was able to start adding real food into my diet, so I followed my surgeons instructions to the letter, and considered myself very lucky at the time. One thing I did do was have six small meals a day early out - I would make myself a banana chocolate protein smoothie and sip on it throughout the day if I felt hungry.
I think you do need to be very sure and careful that you are not going to harm your tummy if you start eating solids at this stage - it is only a few more weeks and then you can do what you want. Are you getting plenty of water in? Sometimes we think we are starvingly hungry when we are actually thirsty..............Hang in there.

My hand is up - I had the worst possible complications with the lap band and now six months out from having the sleeve - I have not had one complication, nor one regret, and as for the success - I am at my lowest weight in 30 years (I am 58) and still losing, my energy levels are amazing and I am wearing clothes that I never dreamed I would get in to. But the best thing of all is knowing that with the sleeve surgery I never have to worry about what could go wrong. When I had my revision I was told there was a possibility that with the damage caused by the band erosion, it might not be possible to have the sleeve, in which case my surgeon would have put in another band. When I was in recovery after the surgery and was told the sleeve surgery was successful - the weight just lifted from me and I have had peace of mind ever since!
Just do it - all the best!.............Marion

What are you eating in a normal day? Are your calories too low maybe and what about protein and carbs etc?
Are you getting in plenty of water?
Vitamins?
I sometimes have blah days, where I drag myself around, but I think that has more to do with the humidity we are experiencing at the moment.
Hope you get some answers soon......... but a check and bloodwork is a must.

I am six months out and far from perfect re vitamins, keeping a food diary and exercise, but I could not be happier because my weight is still dropping at least a 1lb a week and sometimes more. I eat a balanced diet, but still graze occasionally - my grazing might consist of a few nuts, or a small piece of ham or a couple of sugar free candies.
My 3 things would be
1 Drink more water
2 Exercise myself and the dog 3 - 4x weekly starting today
3 I will try to remember to food journal - I am a typical ADD -er and tend to forget - or maybe that has something to do with my age!

LOVING MY SLEEVE AND LOVING MY LIFE

So now I covertly play this stupid game on my cellphone and have wasted so much time when I should have been doing more important things. I have an aversion to doing the bookwork for our business and every day I have a battle with myself to get things done which is why I got addicted to games. I would not trust myself to go to a casino for the same reason!
So, I woke up this morning with the words buzzing through my head to transfer one addiction for another - and that is what I will work towards. I liked another poster saying that they transfered their addiction to exercise - which I know is a great stress reliever and I do like it when I do it, but I have to overcome the mental hurdle of making a start! In my case it is a real battle of the mind and I know I have to do something about it. Luckily, alcohol has not been an issue for me. I hope that now you have identified the potential danger you can resolve it.......Marion

Hi Mo
I think you need to give yourself time for your body to adjust to your weight loss which has been significant over a short time. Some of my friends *****ached goal within a year or so and had lost over 100lbs, found that 2 years out many of the loose skin issues were resolving well, with the exception of certain areas. When I lost weight with my lapband over the 15 good months when I still had it, my tummy (panni) was much smaller than it is now and I weigh about 25lbs less now than I ever did with my band. Because I regained nearly all of the weght when my band was removed, I am hopeful that when I am further out with my sleeve that my tummy will shrink again too. If not, I would definitely consider PS to rectify it, but not until I have lost all the weight I want and allowed the time to see what I look like maybe 2 years down the track.

I can absolutely say that my weight loss would have been much greater if I had incorporated daily exercise into my routine, but if you find it difficult, I would not worry about it - just do what you feel comfortable with

As for losing weight after the sleeve, in my own experience it has been the easiest thing I have ever done in my whole obese life. Sometimes I have 3 - 4 weeks stalls, but the weight is slowly and constantly tracking downwards and I am now eating between 900 and 1200 cals a day. I thought my metabolism what totally shot - but now that I understand the pattern of how I, as an individual, am losing with my sleeve, I no longer worry that the weight loss will stop.........Marion
