I have not posted this for sometime now and decided that for all the newbies out there...I would post this to help you to break those dreaded plateau's that you may experience on your WL journey.

Hugs and blessings ~~~ Vivian

PLATEAU BUSTERS DIET

How to break a plateau:

#1 - Do this for 10 days at break a plateau

#2 - Drink 2 quarts of water a day

#3 - You must have 50 grams of protein supplement and all your vitamins/minerals supplements each day.

#4 - You may consume up to 3 oz of the following high protein foods, 5X’s a day

beef

pork

chicken

turkey

lamb

fish

eggs

low fat cheese

cottage cheese

plain yogurt or artificially sweetened

peanut butter ( the original doesn’t say...but I would limit this to once a day....also I would only do one serving size and NOT 3 oz. )

beans/legumes

You may also have :

sugar free popcicles

tea or coffee

sugar free jello

broths/ boullion

crystal light drinks

#5 - If it is not on the list, you can’t have it for 10 days !!!

#6 - Keep a food diary and try to get up to 30 minutes of exercise daily.

In addition to the Plateau Buster, you can change up your exercise plan as well. Such as if you are walking, change up things and do other exercises every other day so that you are not doing the same things on a daily basis. You can also add in weights. Good luck !!!

Thanks Vivian. I am going to print this off for reference later. On another note, how is your son?

Sarab......not totally sure how my son is doing yet.   Some days are better than others.    We have had LOTS of issues with him and his GF living in my house.    They are not wanting to completely follow "my rules" that I have put down.     She is very manipulative and has tried on several occassions to manipulate me without success I might add.    It is totally stressful that is for sure !!!   Her parents have just about given up on her and that breaks my heart but she is not my responsibility nor will I make her mine.    I know that my sound cold and trust me....I am so NOT that way !!!   It hurts to try to play a role of a mean and heartless person.....but they have take so advantage of us financially that they have put my family in a bind !!!   I am having to call my bank daily to make sure nothing bounces !!!  UGH   Never had that problem till we started paying their bills along with ours.    Sorry if I am telling you TMI !!!   I am just angry with the situation we are in and his Suboxone is $360 a month + $100 to the doc for writing the perscription.   And there they are....no job !!!  So guess who pays????   OK...I am going to shut up now with my venting.    Sorry to have dumped this on you.   Please keep us in your prayers.

I am sory you have to go through all of this and will keep you in my prayers. YOu are welcme to vent any time you feel the need. As far as the girlfriend, no one can blame you there. They do tend to become manipulative, it becomes a way of life. I am glad for you that you can see right through that. I know what you mean about having to be a way that you are not. I had to be that way before myself. I am happy to say that with the person I am speaking of is doing well now. Sometimes if we are not then we become enablers. I want you to know I really feel for you and I hope for your sake it all works out well. Please don't feel as though you have dumped anything. If I didn't want to know I would not have asked. I hope God will send blessings your way and you can find relief and peace.

This is meant to be constructive advice:  If you wait too long to put an end to being abused, you could end up without a home of your own, and deep in debt. God gave you brains as well as a heart. Use them both. Take care of yourself and release others to take care of themselves.

My experience is that this is what works to get things moving again.  As we get used to eating more "normal" foods, the carbs creep in, and BAM -- stall.

Back to the basics, protein first, and minimize the carbs, and ELIMINATE the evil white carbs.  And watch for the "stealth" carbs. 5 or 10 grams here or there, and suddenly you are over 50 for the day, and my body would WAY prefer burning carbs to burning fat.

And once the carb monster is awakened, man is it hard to deal with until it is put back in its cage. It has taken me about 4 days of extreme vigilance to finally reduce the carb cravings to minimal.

It is also a matter of success breeding failure.  I had been doing so well that "just" an extra hand full of nuts or "sugar free" something won't hurt....  but the bad carbs want to leave you stalled on the plateau of despair.

Remember, the Evil Carbs ARE out to get you!!!
