Morning all :)

I've noticed a lot of new people on the board, and a lot of "techie" type questions being asked (kinda repeatedly LOL).  Here are a few tips/tricks to get you started - everyone else, please add yours to the list!!  :)

Adding someone as a friend -  simply look beneath any of their posts and you will see "add friend".  Click on that and it will send a request to the person.

Sending a PM (private message) - look beneath any post of the person you would like to send a message to and click on "contact".  This will allow you to send them a private message.  Contrary to popular belief, you don't have to be on their "friends list" and it doesn't matter if their profile is set to "private", you can still send a message.

Replying to a post  - to reply to a certain person's post, click on "reply" directly under that post. If you don't do that, your message may inadvertently be sent to the attention of someone else.

Posting a photo in your message - I find the easiest way to do this is:  Upload the photo I want to share to My Photos on OH. (Link at the top of your screen, "My OH - Photos")  Once uploaded, click on the desired photo, right-click "copy".  Create your post as usual and right-click "paste" where you would like the photo to appear in your message.

Next.................

I find that a lot of people ask questions on popular topics, over and over again. I've found that the "search" option on the upper right hand corner of the page is very helpful when i want to know something commonly asked, ilke vitamin requirements, or what tattoo people should get, that kind of thing.

Not gonna lie, I had a little head-shake when I saw 4 separate posts on the first page of the forum yesterday, all about angels.  lol

Block people that annoy/harrass/bother you.  They aren't worth the time.  And for godsake's don't be so damn  nosey to sign out to read their posts once you have blocked them.

There are two reply buttons under each post.  If you want to reply to the original poster of the thread then hit the one at the farthest left.  If you want to reply to a poster within that thread, then hit the reply directly under that post. When you are reading from recent posts, it won't give you the option to reply to the OP so you have to open the thread and then click the right one otherwise you are piggy backing and replying to the latest poster.

can you tell if someone has blocked you?

Yes - if a thread seems "disjointed", or seems not to make sense then you may be missing posts because someone has blocked you and you can't see what they've written.  Case in point - I had a funny situation a few weeks ago on the "what are you eating" thread.  Someone posted advice to another member about their eating too many carbs, and it appeared to ME that she was posting to one person, when in reality, she was posting to a person who has me blocked, so it didn't make sense. LOL  (Yes, I know.  Who on earth would block me?   Just kidding.  Several I'm sure. LOL)

Also, you may see that someone was the last to post on a thread, but when you open the thread, you can't see their post.
