Hey gang,  

One of the frequently asked questions is where to find a support group? Well, with the help of many friends here, this is a listing of all the know support groups.

There could be others, and if so, we need your help. Can you please tell me which support groups you know of, location, the day and/or time the classes are held, if they are open to “everyone” or to just patience’s of specific doctors, free or fee, County, contact information?

ATLANTIC COUNTY:   Support Group Information needed

Hackensack Hospital (in Hackensack) meeting is the 1st Thursday of the month from 6:30 - 8:00 PM. Open to everyone.

Dr. Jean-Baptiste (in Plainfield) meeting is the 3^rd Thursday of the month from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.

GLOUCESTER COUNTY  

Gloucester County Office of Education (in Sewell) - meeting is every other Wednesday at 7pm.   Location: 1492 TANYARD RD, SEWELL, NJ 08080

PLEASE NOTE: Morristown has updated/supplemented/changed the support group. The above meeting still will take place in December 2008, but will be discontinued after that, and replaced by the following. The location has also slightly changed (to across the street)

Banded patients meetings: meeting is the 2^nd Tuesday of each month at 6:00 to 7:00 p.m..  

Bypass patients meetings: meeting is the 3rd Tuesday of each month: For patients who have had bariatric surgery less than one year meeting is 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.. For patients who have had bariatric surgery more than one year meeting is 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m..

ETA:   I just called back and also confirmed that the meetings are open to anyone - regardless of surgeon/hospital - and there is no fee for the group.

The second one under Ocean Cty...the one in Sewell, should be under Gloucester County.

DUH !!!!!! ... Do you think that since it was held at the "GLOUCESTER COUNTY of Education" would have been a BIG CLUE for me. ... Well I guess I am no Columbo or Monk  ... Thanks for the update, and I corrected it !! I appreciate all your help !!

Heard back from the OH Staff, and they stated this post cannot be "sticky" to stay at top. Their suggestion is to make a note of the link if you want to "remember" the information.

The meeting in Bergen County, Englewood Hospital is the third Monday of each month at 6:00PM.  It's open to anyone-combines Lap Band and RNY together.  (I know the link you provided says Tuesdays, but it is Mondays-I've been going every month since May).  If you want more info about them, you can contact Dr. Viamakis' office.
