I need to qualify my prior post by saying that do not look at me to continue the posting on this forum because I have had an extremely hard 18 months. I have an ill husband and my life has been worked to the bone.  I have not had one member of this board send me a PM asking what has been going on with me and where have I been. I retired last month. Hah - retire NOT it has been appt after appt for health issues.

I am not sure where you all are but that is not how this board has functioned in the past. OLLIE, OLLIE OXEN FREE, COME OUT, COME OUT WHERE EVER YOU ARE!

A flipant comment in a daily roll call will not make me come out. Be more personal and send me a message!

Good Morning, did we all get wakened up by the storms last night?

I am slightly peeved with Waste Management. When they emphtied the containers this morning, before 6, they left the lids open. No problem, other then when I went out to bring them in, they both had over an inch of water in them. All they needed to do was flip the lids back. I noticed I wasn't the only one as I looked up the street.

Nancy, the start and stop of PT, is because of the insurance companies. They dictate how many treatments a person can receive at a given time.

I am heading to the bank and lunch with friends. I lead such a dull life during the summer.

Have a great day and stay dry,

Hugs,

Lisa

We had a reunion to go to yesterday. I was the designated photographer. I am an honorary sister to my nieces. It was only supposed to be their family but I was asked to be a part of it and was the only non family member there. I do "sister" things with them all year long. The pictures turned out great and now I just need to load them on my PC and external drives and send them off to the family.

Got the laundry under way, been to a Boy Scout Pancake B-Fast and Meijer for next week's groceries. I found a great recipe book from America's Test Kitchen (PBS show) and it has great recipes for two people. Now, granted we both do not have normal size tummies but it means that there is only one left over a person. They are tasty and fast/easy.

Need to get out and fill the hummer feeders. They do not like that I am a day behind with refilling them.

Did not stay in Plainfield much past the meeting as my bottom end was tired from sitting for so long AND what did I do afterwards? Sit in a car for 1+ hour on the ride home.

I leave the station for a record's manager meeting in Plainfield @ about 10:45. Lunch first then the meeting. Should be a good one because the Attorney General Ofc is going to guide us on how to handle ambulance chaser accident requests.

Home afterwards. Have some chicken breast defrosting. Probably will just saute them.

Venous insufficiency causes swelling of the lower limbs. For me mostly the right ankle and calf. The valves in the vein do not open/close properly and the blood does not circulate back up to the heart correctly. I had two real deep veins that needed to be laser closed by the doctor last year. Varicose veins can cause other surface veins to come up and spider veins. They (surface veins) are dangerous not to have treated because for extreme cases they can ulcerate and cause a bad infection. One simple treatment is wearing compression hose. Those things will practically strangle you trying to put them on especially the full length ones and they are hot. I call them my boa constrictor hose. I only need to wear them when I notice swelling that lasts more than a couple days.

Basically the wrap I am in is an Ace bandage. It is a compression wrap and it is to protect the injections sights from infection. I could not get the leg wet this morning. I had to put bags over my leg while in the shower.

What I was saying about my mom and her dad is that this condition is hereditary.

I was going to put up the roll call yesterday and then time got away from me at work. I had other things on my mind also and it was a vein procedure to be done at 4pm. When one has venous insufficiency you develop a lot of ugly surface veins. These need to be taken care of or they might ulcerate. This all rolled downhill from my mom and her dad as they had it also. Other than being wrapped from top to bottom of the leg it was not too bad. The best part is that insurance will pay for 3 sessions of each leg.

Need to finish getting ready for work.

Happy hot Saturday. I went out shortly to take pictures of the flowers at the country club and that is about all the time I will spend out there. There were close to 50 people on the Metra platform waiting to go to the air show. We did that a few times and never again. It is always steamy on this week-end.

Doing some photo editing and need to straighten up a little in the dining room and kitchen.

Is she local to the Chicago area, had her surgery here? You can direct her here to this group? We enjoy having new members. Have her join the daily roll call - tho this summer the roll call has been sporadic due to schedules. For me I am taking care of an ailing husband, there has been a wedding, worker bees, vacations etc.

Not many. Who is your doctor or where are you planning on going to transfer your medical care to? Look into Dr Jeff Rosen or Dr Mikhal with LifeWeigh Bariatrics at Good Sam in Downers Grove, IL.

Ps LifeWeigh is for their patients only. You might want to check out the Kane Group out of Alexian Brothers in Elk Grove Village or their sister hospital St Alexius in Hoffman Estates. There are other groups in the Joliet or Evanston Central IL areas. Many of these areas are a pretty good distance away from the other.

I am so far behind at work today. We had some in house training and then it was catch up on the emails. The other girl went home sick. She only came in for the training.

Bye for now.

 Happy Sunday

Great day yesterday even though it was overshadowed with a wake and service. I heard a wonderful message of hope and salvation from the chaplin that officiated the service. Though he was a little dry as he did not know Jack but was able to input a lot with background from being a chaplin for a local PD. I also talked with many co-workers that have since left IPD. Even our local Lion's message board had a memorial to Jack.

Our "Jackie P" "P Man". Names that co-workers had for him. He left this world too soon.

Will watch my hummers today, finish laundry, grocery store and will make salad and fix left overs for din din.

What is going on in your area of the Land of Lincoln?

Good Nat'l Night Out is over and done with for another year. That event is a lot of work and the ppl of this town all have their hands out "wanting" something for free. They have no clue what the event is all about.

My work family is still grappling with the loss of one of our own. One of our retired officers died on Monday afternoon. He was only 55. He was highly respected by the citizens and his co-workers.

Enough of being a Debbie Downer.

What is happening in your world?

Jason, go to Cyberdriveillinois.com this is SOS for the State of IL. As far as the time to wait at the office is contingent on how many walk-ins they have. Sometimes you are in and out and other times there is a long wait. You cannot predict it. Check on if the office is open on Monday's because some are closed that day. You always know if you pass the same day. Review your Rules of the Road book to see how many questions are on the test.

This week is flying by.

I need to pack up some stuff for the resale shop this evening and we have someone coming over to PU a bike we are donating to the bike ministry at Willow. They fix up bikes and give them to the homeless at PADS shelters.

What is happening with you folks?

AAAWWWW!! The AC is fixed at work. The compressor went out. My room was muggy and warm. We had to go over to the village hall side or the rear of the PD to cool off. I brought in a 12" high fan for at my desk. Dispatch had it worse as they cannot leave the room. They have a portable unit for cooling.

Not planning on doing anything after work but stay inside. I had an ingrown toenail worked on yesterday. Surprisingly it does not hurt. He numbed it up first. The doc said they usually (for the second and other smaller toes) happen due to being stepped on or stubbing it. Well, I resemble that remark - I stub my toes at least 3-4 times a year. I am just staying off of it to be careful.

What is happening in your corner of Lincoln Land?
