Does anyone know Charity (dustydeer) IRL?

If so, do you know if she went to the hospital?  It's only been about four or five hours since she posted--I think.  But I really hope she got to an ER.

I'm glad you posted this, Sue. I've been worried since I read her post and did not see an update. I hope she did make it to the ER and is getting care.

I am sorry I didn't update, but I am battling a case of being an idiot combined with chicken-**** as well. I didn't do anything but cry and freak out and get to scared to move.
So I have called in this morning, I am waiting for PCP to open and if anything happens between now and then, will hit the ER. If I don't get results from PCP, I'll go to ER.

Thanks for checking in on me, I feel good having you guys here but at the same time, ashamed because I shouldn't have let this get so out of control.

Charity,

Your "chicken ****ness" and "idiot-ness" if they exist at all are likely related to your not getting enough oxygen right now.  They can fix that--if that's what it is--with a diuretic which will unload all that fluid out of your system in a big hurry...and you will feel SOOOO much better once that happens.

But someone else mentioned that shortness of breath and edema are signs of congestive heart failure.  The first time I heard that I REALLY fell apart...was pretty sure I was going to die right then.  I think it was about ten years ago.  With less weight, less salt and moving better, I don't think anyone has mentioned those words in a long, long time.

Get thy ass to someone who can help alleviate the situation.  And once you get the diuretic script, stay close to a toilet...you will be AMAZED.

One more thing.  If you haven't called already...you say, "I have edema, shortness of breath and fatigue.  Do you want me to come right in or go to the ER?"

Sometimes, you have to treat them like kids...we never say, "Do you want to change into your jammies?"  We say, "Do you want the red pajamas or the blue ones?"  As in You May Choose From the Following Options and Nothing Else.

Amen and Amen.

Charity - I've had CHF.   Don't fudge around with this.   Please go get checked out.   Chicken**** or not, you've got to be your own advocate.  The potential issues you are dancing around are incredibly SERIOUS.  Please, please, please go to the ER and DEMAND a cardiologist (or an internist and an echocardiogram) immediately.
