How to copy and paste old journal entries to new profile
email to a friend
printer-friendly version

We are going to move a journal entry from my old profile to my new profile.as part of this tutorial.
LEFT click on the text you wish to copy and drag your mouse across the text to highlight it, like this:

Next, RIGHT click and select COPY

Now, go to your profile's blog section (I have renamed mine to "journal") and click on ADD POST

Now, LEFT click "inside" the editing window.....

.....then RIGHT click and select PASTE

Once you have clicked on PASTE your text will appear in the editing appear.
Now, add a TITLE for your post. If you need to back date the post (to the original post date for example)... you will need to click on ADVANCED OPTIONS. If you do not wish to back date, then proceed to click on SAVE.

In the ADVANCED OPTIONS window, you can change the date to whatever date you choose (the original journal entry date). There are few other options here as well. Change the date to whatever you want it to be and then click on SAVE.
Note: This is how you "archive"... which simply means "backdate" your post entries. Also note that having the date typed in the body of your post will not make it save under the correct date. You have to physically change the date of the post to the original post or journal entry date for it to be correct. Putting in the proper date for your post allows them to appear under the correct month in your archives list.

Once you click on SAVE you will then see this next window. If you need to edit this post, simply click on EDIT, otherwise click on HOME to finish.

If you back dated the post, you will have to go to whatever month and year you dated the post... to be able to view it. To view it, you will need to click o the appropriate month / year in your archives list.
