How to update your profile page:
Step 1. On many of our pages you will see something like the image below. In the top right hand corner make sure you have signed in, after you have signed in there is a link that says ?My Account?. Either of these two areas will prompt you to log in to get to your personal account center so that you can update your profile. What you will see if not signed in: Click on sign in You will come to a sign in page. You should see something similar to the below image. Please note the red arrows are pointing to where you need to sign in. Put your ObesityHelp.com User name and password then click login.
What will see if signed in: Click on my account Step 2. After signing in. You will come to a new page. This new page is your Personal Account Center. You can do a lot of things here, so make sure to look around. Scroll down on that page, and you should see something similar to the image below. To update your profile, you need to click on the link that says "General Info". Side Note: If you scroll down the page further, you should see something similar to below. "Profile Colors and Photos", if you click on that link you can go in and change your text and background colors for you profile comments page. Step 3. You will then come to the inside workings on your profile. This is where your personal information is. You will see things like First Name, Last Name, Password, Address, Phone, Email, and a few other things. However if you scroll down towards the bottom you will see a large white box it has the word "Comments" directly to the left of the box. Please see the below in the sample image. This large white box is where you type in your updates. Once you type in an update, you then click the button that says "Update My File". Please note that every time you want to update your profile, you follow all of the above steps. When you come back in after making your first update you will see your text in the below box. This is important. You do not want to delete that text or type over it. Instead you want to go to the end of it then skip a line and begin typing your next update. If you delete the words that are there or type over them then you will lose your previous update, so please make sure you skip a line and put your next update after the one you already did or before it depending on what order you want them to show. You then need to click the Update My File button, so that it will save what you have put in your profile. We recommend checking the box that says "Yes, email me a back up!" each time you make an update. This will send a copy of your profile to the email address you have listed in your profile. You will then be back to what looks like a very similar screen but at the top it will say "After updating it may take several minutes for your changes to be visible on your profile." and "Thank you. Your profile has been updated. Click here to return to your Personal Account Center." To view what you just put on your profile, click on the link that says "Click here to return to your Personal Account Center." Then towards the top of your account center, where it welcomes you on the left - there is a link that says "View Your Profile". Click on that to view your changes. Please note sometimes the changes may not be visible for up to 10 minutes. Important Side Note: You should always make a copy of your postings just to be on the safe side, in case your email back up does not arrive. There have been times when people have lost everything on their profile or not updated correctly and lost everything they had just typed in. You can make a back up copy (recommend doing it before you hit update my file). In the area that you type in your updates (the big white box) right click and from the list click on "select all", then right click again and select "copy" from the list. Now open up wordpad, notepad, Word, word perfect, or any word processing program that you use and then right click in that and select paste from the list. You should then see all your profile comments in that. You then will need to save that somewhere you can easily retrieve it should you ever lose your posts and it is important to make sure you update it every time you make a new post. |
