Danna Flowers Registered Nurse RN, CBN

Danna Flowers has served as the Bariatric Surgery Coordinator at Johnson City Medical Center since 2014. She has been a Registered Nurse since 1989 and spent most of her career in the operating room where she excelled as both a circulating nurse and RN First Assistant. In 2008 she became the DaVinci Robotic Surgery Coordinator for Mountain States Health Alliance and helped build the first robotic team in NE Tennessee and SW Virginia. After a back injury, Danna left the operating room and became the Bariatric Surgery Program Coordinator at Johnson City Medical Center. Under her guidance, the facility received MBSAQIP Accreditation in 2016.

Danna has found her niche in this role and has achieved her Certified Bariatric Nurse and has worked hard to build a successful Weight Loss Surgery Support Group that serves a Tri-State area. Danna is the Editor in Chief for Stat Pearls Study Guide for CBN Exam, is a member of America Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgeons and The Obesity Society. In her free time, Danna is the co-founder of an organization that serves the homeless in her area with a mobile shower trailer.Her hobbies are gardening, camping, kayaking and caring for her dogs and chickens.
