Before my Bariatric surgery, I was Professionally successful, making a positive difference in the everyday lives of my clients, and earning an excellent living as a therapist. I’m the mother of two beautiful, brilliant children, with an incredible mate and loving parents; my home-life should have been satisfying. But inside…I still felt like a social and physical pariah. Stairs left me breathless, my knees and back ached, I couldn’t fit into chairs comfortably, (sometimes, not at all), I had no energy and severe apnea interrupted my sleep and scared my Sweetheart to death! My co-morbidities abounded! I had to take medication to stabilize my high blood pressure, and was pre-diabetic. I had the body of an “old woman” at age 40! I felt that I wouldn’t live to watch my beautiful children grow up. After I’d tried EVERYTHING the media SAID should work…if only I had “more self control,” My medical doctor suggested I look into Bariatric Surgery and began to study-up on what it would take to be a success in this arena of my life.

My TRANSFORMATIONAL journey began on August 3rd of 2004, when I had my Bariatric surgery. My weight was reduced from 296lbs down to 165lbs within 14 months, and I have been successful in maintaining my healthy body for 3&1/2 years!
