I became interested in weight loss surgery when my best friend announced to me that she had decided that she was going to undergo bariatric surgery. Through her, I learned, from the patient's point of view, what someone goes through both in deciding to do WLS, and in teh recovery process. What I enjoy most about therapy with WLS patients is seeing how they change and grow and helping them with the psychological part of the changes the surgery brings about.
