About Me
Ra'Mona Brown relocated to the state of Maryland from New Haven, CT in 2007 and has been an employeeRamona Brown at the University of Medical Center over five years. Ra'Mona started in the Department of Peri-Operative Services as an administrative assistant in the Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU). In July 2012 she became the first Patient Navigator in the Center for Weight Management and Wellness. Ra'Mona operates in two capacities. The first is chart advancement: reviewing all diagnostic testing, and pre-requisites required to build each patients medical chart to be advanced for medical approval with the medical staff in the Bariatric Surgery Program and financial approval through insurance companies. The second is marketing; Ra'Mona can be found participating in various community outreach programs representing the Center for Weight Management and Wellness. She can also be found greeting each future patient and their family supporters at every information seminar given to educate the new patient on the various aspects of weight loss surgery. Starting in January 2013 Ra'Mona will be heading a new weight loss surgery support group at the Medical Center, which will meet on every 2nd Thursday of the month in the Patient Resource Class Room from 5:45 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.
