Free Information Seminars: Anyone interested in bariatric surgery at River Oaks Hospital should attend one of our free information seminars and may arrange to do so by calling 888-500-1275, or go online to www.riveroakshospitalhouston.com . Click on Centers of Excellence then Bariatric and follow the instructions. During these seminars, you will learn about the procedures performed at River Oaks. These include the (open and laparoscopic) Roux-en-Y Gastric Bypass (RNY) and the laparoscopic Adjustable Gastric Band (AGB) procedure, also known as the LapBand procedure. You also will learn about the mental and emotional changes necessary to ensure successful weight loss following surgery. Parking is free. As you start your journey, you first seek out help and guidance from those who have gone before you. After your surgery, you look to others to help explain all of the feelings that you are experiencing, both physically and emotionally. A licensed Clinical Dietitian will attend every support group meeting and will answer any questions you may have about your diet.
