 The Bariatric Surgery Program at Froedtert & The Medical College of Wisconsin offers a unique, holistic approach and multi-disciplinary team. The team, including surgeons, a nurse practitioner, dietitian, psychologists and others, consults with patients one-on-one to make sure they understand all they need to know before undergoing bariatric surgery. Careful monitoring through five years of post-operative recovery helps insure patients achieve a new healthy lifestyle, as well as significant weight loss.
Additional resources, including a support group and an exercise program developed especially for those who have undergone bariatric surgery, help patients stay on track and reach their goals.
Experienced Medical College of Wisconsin surgeons (certified by the American College of Surgeons and members of the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery) offer the laparascopic adjustable band and other bariatric procedures that provide patients with the best combination of weight loss with the fewest nutritional risks. The surgeons specialize in minimally invasive techniques, and also offer traditional open surgery, depending on the needs of the individual.
