About MeDr. Seth M. Kipnis is a minimally invasive gastrointestinal surgeon and bariatric surgeon, fellowship trained in advanced laparoscopy and endoscopy, and a board certified general surgeon. He is currently the Director of Bariatric Surgery at Jersey Shore University Medical Center. Prior to joining Jersey Shore Advanced Surgical Associates in 2009, Dr. Kipnis was the director of the bariatric program at the Virtua Surgical Group in Cherry Hill, New Jersey. Dr. Kipnis was also a Clinical Instructor of Surgery for the UMDNJ-RWJ Medical School and a Clinical Instructor of Surgery at the Milton S. Hershey Medical School at Penn State, teaching surgical residents and medical students. While at Penn State, Dr. Kipnis completed a minimally invasive surgery and bariatric fellowship. Dr. Kipnis is certified by the American Board of Surgery and is a member of the Society of Laparoendoscopic Surgeons, American Society of Bariatric Surgeons, American Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy, and the American College of Surgeons. He is a Clinical Assistant Professor of Surgery at UMDNJ Robert Wood Johnson, in New Brunswick, NJ. As part of the teaching faculty at Jersey Shore University Medical Center, he actively instructs both residents and medical students.
