John Powell Bariatric Surgeon MD

  John D. Powell, MD John D. Powell, Jr., MD earned his undergraduate degree in biology at Monmouth University in New Jersey. He continued on to medical school at St. George's University School of Medicine, completing his internship at PinnacleHealth's Harrisburg Hospital. Dr. Powell participated in a bariatric fellowship at Geisinger Medical Center and continued his bariatric work with Dr. DiMarco. He joined Central Pennsylvania Surgical Associates, Ltd. and the PinnacleHealth Weight Loss Center in 2014. While completing his residency, Dr. Powell realized his interest in Laparoscopic and bariatric surgeries and takes great pride helping patients achieve their weight loss goals.
