Elizabeth Dovec Bariatric Surgeon MD

Dr. Dovec joined GBMC’s Comprehensive Obesity Management Program in July 2013. A board-certified General Surgeon, she completed her Fellowship at Vanderbilt University’s Advanced Laparoscopic and Bariatric Surgery Fellowship Program. Having earned her medical degree at Marshall University in Huntington, WV, she completed her residency at Allegheny General Hospital. Active in multiple professional societies, including the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery (ASMBS), Dr. Dovec remains committed to educating, improving, and expanding on the field of weight loss surgery. She has presented at numerous regional, national and international conferences and authored abstracts, peer-reviewed publications and a laparoscopic gastric bypass operative technique book chapter.
