    Like many physicians, Dr. Sami Hamamji chose a career in medicine because he has a sincere desire to help people get well. In addition, he believes in providing the highest quality and most up-to-date medical and surgical care to his patients in a caring and compassionate way. Dr. Hamamji received his medical degree from St. Joseph University in Beirut, Lebanon. After one year of starting general surgery residency at Rizk Hospital in Beirut, Lebanon, he moved to Montreal, Quebec where he completed his internship and his general surgery training at the hospitals of the University of Montreal, obtaining certification from the Royal College of Surgeons of Canada. Later he successfully took and passed the American Board of Surgery exam and became a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. Today, Dr. Hamamji maintains an interest and expertise in a wide range of areas, including laparoscopic bariatric surgery and advanced laparoscopic surgery. He is an active member of the American Society for Bariatric Surgery. Dr. Hamamji is also interested in cutting-edge technologies including the use of robotics in advancing the field of minimally invasive surgery. Dr. Hamamji is fluent in French, Arabic, and English. When he is not working, he enjoys soft and classical music, contemporary authors and fine arts.
